2. Noise Reduction and Sound Amplification

Image: Principle of noise reduction and sound amplification.
These earmuffs are designed with dual functionality:
- Sound Amplification: The integrated omni-directional microphones amplify low-level ambient sounds (e.g., conversations, range commands, animal movements) up to a safe 82 dB. This allows for improved situational awareness and communication without removing the earmuffs.
- Noise Reduction: When harmful impulse noises, such as gunfire or loud machinery, exceed 82 dB, the electronic circuit instantly blocks or compresses these sounds, protecting your hearing. The Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) for these earmuffs is 24dB.
3. Using the Audio Input
The 3.5mm audio input jack allows you to connect external audio devices, such as an MP3 player, radio, or smartphone, to listen to music or communicate while wearing the earmuffs. Use the provided 3.5mm audio cable to connect your device.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
- Clean the earmuffs with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not immerse the earmuffs in water or use harsh chemical cleaners.
- The ear cushions can be gently wiped clean.
- Ensure the earmuffs are completely dry before storage.
2. Storage
- When not in use, store the earmuffs in the provided protective hard case to prevent damage.
- Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
- No Sound/Low Volume:
- Ensure batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Check if the earmuffs are powered on and the volume is turned up.
- Verify the audio cable connection if using an external device.
- Distorted Sound:
- Lower the volume.
- Check battery level.
- Ensure microphones are not obstructed.
- Poor Noise Reduction:
- Ensure the earmuffs form a tight seal around your ears. Adjust the headband for a better fit.
- Check for any gaps or damage to the ear cushions.
