1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the DIYSecuritycameraworld 2-Channel Mini Mobile AHD DVR. This device is designed for vehicle surveillance, supporting high-definition AHD cameras up to 5MP resolution and standard CVBS cameras. It features H.264 compression for efficient recording, dual SD card slots for extended storage, and intelligent power management suitable for 12-24V vehicle environments.

3. Product Overview

4. Setup

4.1 SD Card Installation

  1. Unlock the SD card compartment cover using the provided key.
  2. Insert up to two SD cards (Class 10 or higher recommended, max 128GB each) into the designated slots (SD Card1, SD Card2) with the contacts facing down.
  3. Gently push the SD cards until they click into place.
  4. Close the compartment cover and lock it with the key to secure the cards.
  5. It is recommended to format the SD cards via the DVR's menu after installation for optimal performance.

4.2 Camera Connection

  1. Connect your AHD (5MP/4MP/1080P/720P) or CVBS cameras to the CAM1 and CAM2 aviation input ports on the DVR using the provided Aviation to BNC cable.
  2. Ensure connections are secure. The DVR provides 12V power to connected cameras.

4.3 Video Output Connection

Connect the DVR to a monitor or display for viewing live footage and accessing the menu.

  • HDMI Output: Connect an HDMI cable from the DVR's HDMI port to your monitor's HDMI input.
  • AV Output: Connect an RCA cable from the DVR's AVOUT port to your monitor's AV input.

4.4 Power Connection

  1. Connect the provided power cable to the DC10-36V input port on the DVR.
  2. Connect the other end of the power cable to your vehicle's power source (12V-24V). Ensure proper polarity.
  3. For ignition control, connect the appropriate wire from the power cable to your vehicle's ignition circuit. This allows the DVR to power on/off with the vehicle's ignition.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: The DVR will automatically power on when the vehicle's ignition is turned on (if connected via ignition control) or when direct power is supplied. The PWR indicator light will illuminate.
  • Power Off: The DVR will power off automatically when the vehicle's ignition is turned off. It may have a delayed shutdown feature to complete current recordings.

5.2 Recording Modes

The DVR supports multiple recording modes, configurable through the on-screen display (OSD) menu using the remote control.

  • Auto Record: Recording starts automatically when the DVR powers on. This is the default mode for continuous surveillance.
  • Timer Record: Schedule specific times for the DVR to start and stop recording.
  • Manual Record: Start and stop recording manually using the remote control. The REC indicator light will flash during recording.
  • Motion Detection Record: Recording begins automatically when motion is detected by the connected cameras. Sensitivity and detection areas can be configured in the menu.

5.3 Menu Navigation and Settings

Use the provided remote control to navigate the DVR's OSD menu. Press the 'MENU' button to access settings such as:

  • System Settings: Date, Time, Language.
  • Record Settings: Resolution, Frame Rate, Recording Mode, Loop Recording.
  • Storage Management: SD card formatting, storage information.
  • Password Protection: Set or change the security code to prevent unauthorized access to DVR settings and recordings.

6. Maintenance

6.1 SD Card Management

  • Formatting: Regularly format SD cards (e.g., monthly) through the DVR's menu to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important recordings before formatting.
  • Replacement: Replace SD cards that show signs of degradation or error messages to ensure reliable recording.
  • Capacity: The DVR supports loop recording, automatically overwriting the oldest footage when the SD card is full.

6.2 Cleaning

  • Wipe the exterior of the DVR with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the unit.
  • Ensure all ports are free from dust and debris.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power:
    • Check the power cable connection to the DVR and the vehicle's power source.
    • Verify the vehicle's power source is active (e.g., ignition on).
    • Ensure the input voltage is within the 10V-32V range.
  • No Video Output:
    • Check HDMI or AV cable connections to both the DVR and the monitor.
    • Ensure the monitor is set to the correct input source (HDMI or AV).
    • Verify cameras are properly connected and powered.
  • No Recording:
    • Ensure SD cards are inserted correctly and securely locked.
    • Check if SD cards are full; format if necessary (after backing up data).
    • Verify the recording mode settings (Auto, Timer, Manual, Motion Detection) in the OSD menu.
    • Check if cameras are functioning and providing a signal.
  • Remote Control Not Responding:
    • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the DVR's IR receiver.
    • Check and replace the remote control batteries if needed.
