  2. Connect Amplifier to TV: Connect the coaxial cable from the 'TV' port of the amplifier directly to the antenna input on your television.
  3. Connect AC Adapter: Plug the included AC power adapter into the amplifier's power input, then plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
  4. Perform Channel Scan: After connecting the amplifier, you must perform a channel scan on your television. Access your TV's menu, navigate to 'Settings' or 'Channel Setup', and select 'Auto Program' or 'Channel Scan'. This will allow your TV to detect the newly strengthened signals.

Antenna Placement Tips:

  • For optimal reception, place your indoor antenna as high as possible or near a window.
  • Ensure the antenna faces the direction of the broadcast towers whose signals you wish to strengthen.
  • Avoid placing the antenna behind your TV or inside a cabinet, as this can block signals.

3. Operating the Amplifier

Once installed, the GE Indoor HD Digital TV Antenna Amplifier works automatically to boost the signals received by your passive antenna. The PureAmp™ Technology continuously filters out 4G/5G LTE cellular interference, providing a cleaner signal for your TV. This results in clearer, more stable reception for your favorite over-the-air channels, reducing pixelation and signal dropouts.

Important Considerations:

  • The number of channels and reception quality can vary based on your distance from broadcast towers, antenna position, and obstacles like hills, buildings, and trees.
  • Always perform a channel scan on your TV after adding or removing the amplifier, or whenever you reposition your antenna.
  • An amplifier should only be added to a passive, unamplified antenna. Adding an amplifier to an already amplified antenna can lead to over-amplification and worsen reception.
  • If you live very close to broadcast towers, it's possible to over-amplify the signal, which can also degrade reception. In rare cases, over-amplification can occur, leading to signal distortion. If this is suspected, try removing the amplifier to see if reception improves.

4. Maintenance

The GE Indoor HD Digital TV Antenna Amplifier requires minimal maintenance. To ensure optimal performance and longevity:

  • Keep the amplifier in a dry environment, away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
  • Clean the exterior of the amplifier with a soft, dry cloth as needed. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure all cable connections remain secure. Loose connections can lead to signal degradation.

5. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your TV reception after installing the amplifier, consider the following:

  • No Signal or Weak Signal:
    • Ensure all coaxial cables are securely connected to the antenna, amplifier, and TV.
    • Verify the AC power adapter is properly plugged into the amplifier and a working electrical outlet.
    • Reposition your antenna. Try moving it higher, closer to a window, or facing a different direction towards broadcast towers.
    • Perform a new channel scan on your TV after any adjustments to the antenna's position.
    • Avoid placing the antenna behind large electronic devices (like the TV itself) or inside enclosed cabinets, as these can block signals.
  • Pixelated or Intermittent Channels:
    • This amplifier is designed to reduce pixelation caused by low-strength signals. If pixelation persists, try repositioning your antenna and performing a channel scan.
    • Consider if you are too close to a broadcast tower. In rare cases, over-amplification can occur, leading to signal distortion. If this is suspected, try removing the amplifier to see if reception improves.
  • Missing Channels:
    • Always perform a channel scan after installation or repositioning the antenna.
    • The amplifier boosts existing signals; it does not create new ones. The number of channels received depends on your location and antenna's ability to pick up signals from broadcast towers.
