2. Safety Information
Always adhere to basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the fireplace. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the fireplace. This appliance is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. The glass front does not get hot enough to cause burns, making it safe for young children.

5.1. Site Preparation
- Measure Twice: Before cutting, verify the rough opening dimensions: 48 7/16" W x 18" H x 5 1/8" D.
- Ensure the fireplace is positioned at least 8 inches below the ceiling or any item mounted above it to allow for proper heat dissipation.
- Ensure a 120V power outlet is available within reach of the power cord, or prepare for hardwiring.
5.2. Recessed Installation
Follow the detailed instructions provided in the included assembly manual for cutting the wall opening and securing the unit. The fireplace can be plugged into a standard 3-prong outlet or hardwired by a qualified electrician.

Your Touchstone Sideline Elite fireplace offers multiple control options for convenience and customization.
6.1. Remote Control
The included remote control allows you to manage all fireplace functions from a distance. Ensure 2 AAA batteries are installed (not included).
- Power: Turn the fireplace ON/OFF.
- Flame Color: Cycle through 6 flame color options.
- Ember Brightness: Adjust the brightness of the ember bed.
- Ember Bed Color: Cycle through 10 media color options.
- Timer: Set an automatic shut-off timer (1-8 hours).
- Hi/Low Heat: Toggle between high and low heat settings.
- Thermostat: Adjust the desired room temperature (68-88°F).
- Flame Speed: Change the speed of the flame effect (3 speeds).
- Flame and Fire Bed Intensity: Adjust the intensity of the flame and ember bed (5 settings).

- Light Bulbs: The flame effect uses LED technology, which typically does not require replacement.
