Installation Guide
The CODACE RFID Electronic Cabinet Lock is designed for concealed installation on wooden cabinets, drawers, and furniture. It is suitable for door thicknesses between 0 and 1.3 inches (0-33mm). No drilling is required for installation.
1. Prepare the Installation Area
- Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
- Identify the optimal placement for the lock unit and latch to ensure proper alignment and functionality. The lock can be installed vertically or horizontally.
- For non-wood surfaces, it is recommended to use 3M adhesive tape instead of screws for installation.
2. Install Batteries
- Open the battery compartment on the lock unit.
- Insert 4 x AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment.

3. Position and Secure the Lock Unit and Latch
- Place the lock unit inside the cabinet or drawer, ensuring the sensing area is close to the exterior surface where the RFID card will be swiped.
- Position the latch on the door or drawer frame so that it aligns perfectly with the lock mechanism when the door/drawer is closed.
- Use the provided screws to secure both the lock unit and the latch firmly in place. Ensure the screw orientation is correct for your application (e.g., drawer vs. cabinet door).
- For optimal performance, the RFID card should be able to penetrate the wood panel (up to 40mm/1.6 inches).

4. Test Functionality
Before closing the cabinet or drawer, test the lock with an RFID card to ensure it functions correctly. Adjust placement if necessary.
Programming and Setup
The lock supports two unlock modes: Single Card Mode and Dual Card Mode, in addition to NFC functionality.
1. Initializing the Lock
- After installing the batteries, locate the reset button.
- Insert the provided screwdriver or a small hard object into the hole of the reset button.
- Hold down the RESET button until you hear a "Di" sound. Release the button.
- Mode Selection:
- If you hear one "Di" beep, the lock is initialized to Single Card Mode (clears all previous card records).
- If you hear two long "Di" beeps (1-2 seconds), the lock is set to Dual Card Mode.

2. Setting the Management Card (Single Mode)
After initialization, the first RFID card swiped in the sensing area of the lock body will become the Management Card. This card can be used to unlock the cabinet and to add or delete user cards.
- After initialization (one "Di" beep for Single Card Mode), immediately swipe the desired RFID card over the sensing area of the lock.
- You will hear a "Di-Di" sound, indicating successful configuration of the Management Card.
3. Setting User Cards (Dual Mode)
In Dual Card Mode, up to 10 user cards can be configured. After the Management Card is set, the lock will beep "Di" when in an unlocked state, indicating it's ready to accept user cards.
- Ensure the lock is in Dual Card Mode (two long "Di" beeps during initialization).
- Swipe the Management Card over the sensing area to unlock the lock. The lock will beep "Di".
- While the lock is in the unlocked state and beeping, swipe a new RFID card over the sensing area.
- You will hear a short beep, confirming successful setting of the user card.
- Repeat for additional user cards (up to 10).

4. NFC Setup for Smartphones
The lock supports NFC functionality for unlocking with compatible smartphones.
4.1. Android NFC Setup
To use your Android phone as an NFC key, you need to copy an existing RFID key to your phone's wallet function.
- Open your smartphone's "Wallet" app.
- Navigate to "Keys" or "Access cards" within the app.
- Select the option to "Copy your card" or "Blank card" to add a new access card.
- Place an already programmed RFID card (or the lock's sensing area) at the NFC sensor on your phone and wait for the process to complete.

4.2. iOS NFC Setup (Requires iOS 12 or higher)
For iOS, you need an existing transportation card or bank card that is already configured with the lock, and then add this card to your iPhone Wallet.
- Pre-Installation Preparation: You will need an existing transportation card or bank card (X1), an iPhone with Wallet function (X1), and the electronic lock with AAA batteries (X1).
- Add an existing transportation card or bank card:
- Install the battery in the lock.
- Use the included screwdriver to insert it into the hole of the reset button until you hear a "Di" sound.
- Hold the transportation card or bank card near the induction area of the lock until you hear a short sound (successful configuration).
- Open your iPhone Wallet: Add this existing card to your phone's Wallet.
- Input NFC Signal:
- Re-open the Wallet app and click "Use Card".
- After the electronic lock is unlocked, enter the mobile phone card information and confirm the input with two beeps.

Operating Instructions
Unlocking the Cabinet/Drawer
- Using an RFID Card: Hold a programmed RFID card (Management Card or User Card) over the exterior surface of the cabinet/drawer, directly above the hidden lock's sensing area. The lock will beep and unlock.
- Using NFC (Smartphone): Hold your NFC-enabled smartphone (with a programmed NFC key) over the exterior surface of the cabinet/drawer, directly above the hidden lock's sensing area. The lock will beep and unlock.

Image: A hand holding an RFID card near a cabinet, demonstrating how to unlock the hidden electronic lock.
Automatic Locking
The lock will automatically re-lock after a short period once the cabinet/drawer is closed.
Low Battery Alert and Auto-Unlock
When the battery voltage is low, the lock will emit a long beep to alert you. In this state, the lock can be used approximately 25 more times. When the battery level becomes critically low, the lock will automatically open to prevent items from being permanently locked inside. Replace the batteries promptly when the low battery alert sounds.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
When the low battery alert sounds, replace the 4 x AAA batteries as soon as possible to ensure continuous operation. Refer to the "Install Batteries" section under Installation Guide for instructions.
Emergency Power Supply
If the batteries die while the lock is engaged and it does not auto-unlock, you can use the provided USB cable for emergency power. Connect the USB cable to the external power port on the lock unit and a 5V DC power source (e.g., power bank or USB adapter). This will provide temporary power to unlock the cabinet/drawer, allowing you to replace the internal batteries.
Important: Do not use both internal batteries and external USB power simultaneously. If using USB power, remove the internal batteries.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Lock not responding to RFID card/NFC:
- Ensure batteries are installed correctly and are not depleted.
- Verify the RFID card or NFC device is properly programmed. Re-program if necessary.
- Check the alignment of the lock unit and latch. The sensing area must be directly aligned with the card/device.
- Ensure the cabinet/drawer material thickness does not exceed 40mm (1.6 inches) for RFID penetration.
- Lock does not engage or disengage smoothly:
- Check the physical alignment of the lock unit and latch. They must be precisely aligned for smooth operation.
- Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the latch from moving freely.
- Tighten all mounting screws to prevent movement of the lock components.
- Lock stopped working after a month:
- Check battery level. Replace batteries if low.
- Important: Do not swipe the management card 9 times continuously, as this will turn off the low-power unlock function. If this occurs, re-initialize the lock and re-program cards.
- Cannot power via 2.5mm mini jack / USB:
- Ensure the 2.5mm jack is a two-pole type with a length of 11.55mm.
- If cutting the cable for direct connection, ensure correct cathode and anode polarity.
- When using USB power, remove internal batteries. The USB power source must be 5V DC.
- What happens if batteries die while locked?
- The lock is designed to automatically unlock shortly before the batteries completely die. A warning beep will sound when power is low, reminding you to replace batteries.
