Setup

Battery Installation

The Znewtech Timer requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). To install:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the timer.
  2. Gently slide open the battery cover.
  3. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

Setting the Clock

After installing batteries, the clock display will activate. To set the time:

  1. Press the SET button on the back of the timer to enter time setting mode. The hour digits will flash.
  2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the hour.
  3. Press SET again to move to minute setting. The minute digits will flash.
  4. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the minutes.
  5. Press SET one more time to confirm and exit time setting mode.
  6. To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format, press the MODE button while in clock display mode.

Operating Instructions

Using Preset Countdown Timers

The Znewtech Timer features five preset countdown durations: 5, 15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes. To activate a timer:

  1. Ensure the timer is in clock display mode.
  2. Simply rotate the timer so that the desired preset time (e.g., "5 min", "15 min") is facing upwards. The countdown will begin automatically.
  3. The LCD screen will display the remaining time.
  4. When the countdown reaches zero, the alarm will sound, and the backlight will flash (if enabled).
  5. To stop the alarm, simply rotate the timer to a different side or press the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button on top.

Clock Mode

To return the timer to clock display mode, rotate it so the side marked "Clock" (indicated by a square icon) is facing upwards. The current time will be displayed.

Adjusting Volume

The timer offers three volume settings: High, Low, and Silent. To adjust the volume:

  1. Locate the volume control button/switch on the back of the timer (often labeled with a speaker icon).
  2. Press or slide to cycle through the available volume levels.
  3. In Silent mode, the timer will rely solely on the flashing backlit visual alert.

Snooze/Light Function

Press the "SNOOZE/LIGHT" button located on the top of the timer to temporarily silence an active alarm or to illuminate the display backlight for a few seconds in low-light conditions.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Timer not starting/Display blank Low or dead batteries; Incorrect battery installation. Replace batteries with new AAA batteries. Ensure correct polarity.
Alarm not sounding Volume set to Silent; Speaker obstructed. Check volume setting and adjust to High or Low. Ensure speaker on back is clear.
LCD display appears dim or blurry when inverted (e.g., 30 min side up) Viewing angle sensitivity of LCD. Adjust your viewing angle or position the timer at eye level for optimal clarity.
Timer does not register rotation for 5-minute setting Internal mechanism needs slight adjustment. Gently shake the timer or rotate it slightly to ensure the internal mechanism engages.
Clock time resets unexpectedly Batteries jostled or briefly disconnected. Re-set the clock time. Ensure batteries are firmly seated in the compartment. Avoid strong impacts.
