Installation Instructions
This section outlines the steps for installing your Moen Genta widespread bathroom faucet. Refer to the included diagrams for visual guidance.
Tools Required (Not Included):
- Adjustable Wrench
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Plumber's Putty or Silicone Sealant
- Flashlight (optional)
Step-by-Step Installation:
- Prepare the Sink: Ensure the sink surface is clean and dry. If replacing an existing faucet, remove the old faucet and clean the mounting area thoroughly.
- Install the Faucet Spout:
- Apply a thin bead of plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the base of the faucet spout.
- Insert the spout assembly through the center hole of the sink.
- From underneath the sink, secure the spout with the provided washer and mounting nut. Hand-tighten, then use an adjustable wrench for a final snug turn. Do not overtighten.
- Install the Handles:
- Apply plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the base of each handle assembly.
- Insert the hot and cold handle assemblies into their respective side holes on the sink.
- From underneath, secure each handle with its washer and mounting nut. Ensure the handles are oriented correctly (e.g., "H" for hot on the left, "C" for cold on the right).
- Connect Water Supply Lines:
- Connect the flexible supply lines from the faucet handles to the corresponding hot and cold water supply valves. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten connections, but do not overtighten.
- Ensure the quick-connect fittings are securely attached to the faucet's inlets.
- Install the Pop-Up Drain:
- Disassemble the drain body. Apply plumber's putty or silicone sealant to the underside of the drain flange.
- Insert the drain flange into the sink drain opening.
- From underneath, attach the rubber washer, friction washer, and mounting nut to the drain body. Tighten securely.
- Connect the pivot rod to the drain stopper and the lift rod assembly.
- Test for Leaks:
- Slowly turn on the main water supply.
- Check all connections for leaks. If leaks are present, gently tighten the connection until the leak stops.
- Operate the faucet handles to ensure proper water flow and temperature control.

Operating Instructions
Your Moen Genta faucet features two handles for precise control over water temperature and flow.
- Water Flow: Turn the handles counter-clockwise to increase water flow and clockwise to decrease or shut off.
- Temperature Control: The left handle controls hot water, and the right handle controls cold water. Adjust both handles to achieve the desired water temperature.
- Pop-Up Drain: Use the lift rod located behind the faucet spout to open and close the drain stopper.

Care and Maintenance
Proper care will help maintain the finish and performance of your Moen faucet.
- Cleaning: Clean the faucet regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or polishes, as these can damage the finish.
- Aerator Maintenance: If water flow decreases, the aerator may be clogged. Unscrew the aerator from the spout, clean any debris, and rinse thoroughly before reattaching.
- Leak Prevention: Periodically check all connections for any signs of leaks. Address minor drips promptly to prevent further issues.
