Setup and Installation

1. Mounting the Metal Enclosure Box

Select a secure, dry location for mounting the metal enclosure box. Ensure it is easily accessible for wiring but out of reach of unauthorized personnel.

  1. Mark the desired mounting points on the wall using the enclosure's pre-drilled holes as a template.
  2. Drill pilot holes if necessary and secure the enclosure to the wall using appropriate fasteners.

2. Installing the Control Panel Board

Carefully install the PC1404 control panel board inside the metal enclosure. Ensure it is securely fastened to prevent movement.

  1. Align the control panel board with the standoffs inside the enclosure.
  2. Secure the board using the provided screws or clips.

3. Connecting the Keypad

Connect the PC1404 keypad to the control panel using the appropriate wiring. Refer to the wiring diagram for correct terminal connections.

  1. Connect the keypad's red, black, yellow, and green wires to the corresponding terminals on the control panel.
  2. Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.

4. Power Connection

Connect the system to a reliable power source. The PC1404 operates on corded electric power.

  1. Connect the AC transformer to the control panel's AC terminals.
  2. Connect the backup battery (if applicable) to the battery terminals.
  3. Plug the AC transformer into a non-switched electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Arming the System

To arm the system, ensure all zones are closed (no open doors/windows). Enter your 4-digit user code on the keypad.

  • Stay Arming: Press [Stay] then your user code. This arms the perimeter zones, allowing movement within the protected area.
  • Away Arming: Press [Away] then your user code. This arms all zones, including interior motion detectors.

Disarming the System

To disarm the system, enter your 4-digit user code. This will silence any active alarms and disarm all zones.

Bypassing Zones

If a zone needs to be temporarily disarmed while the rest of the system is armed, you can bypass it.

  1. Press [*] then [1].
  2. Enter the 2-digit zone number(s) to bypass.
  3. Press [#] to exit.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the optimal performance and longevity of your DSC alarm system.

  • Battery Check: Test the backup battery annually. Replace if it fails to hold a charge.
  • System Test: Perform a full system test monthly, including all sensors and the siren, to ensure proper functionality.
  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the keypad and control panel enclosure with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Wiring Inspection: Periodically inspect all wiring for signs of wear, damage, or loose connections.

Troubleshooting
