5. Setup

5.1 Inserting the Battery

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the lithium battery, ensuring the correct orientation as indicated inside the compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Inserting an SD Card

  1. Locate the SD card slot, usually on the side or bottom of the camera.
  2. Insert the SD card with the metal contacts facing the correct direction (refer to the diagram near the slot). Push until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove, gently push the card in again until it springs out.

Note: The camera supports SD cards up to 32 GB. Ensure the card is formatted in the camera before first use (see "Menu Settings").

5.3 Charging the Battery

  1. Connect the camera to a computer or a USB wall adapter using the provided USB cable.
  2. The charging indicator light will illuminate. It will turn off or change color when charging is complete.

5.4 Initial Power On and Date/Time Setting

  1. Press and hold the Power button to turn on the camera.
  2. If prompted, set the date and time using the navigation buttons and confirm with the SET/OK button. This ensures correct timestamps on your photos and videos.

6. Operating the Camera

6.1 Basic Photography

  1. Turning On: Press the Power button. The camera will start in photo mode by default.
  2. Taking a Photo: Frame your shot using the LCD screen. Press the Shutter button halfway to focus, then press fully to capture the image.
  3. Using Digital Zoom: Use the 'T' button to zoom in and the 'W' button to zoom out. The camera features 8x digital zoom.
