1. Introduction

The FiiO M9 is a high-resolution audio player designed to deliver exceptional sound quality for your music. This manual provides detailed instructions on how to set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot your FiiO M9.

2. Product Overview

2.1 Device Layout

2.2 Controls and Ports

• Power Button: Located on the side, used to power on/off the device and turn the screen on/off.

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

3.2 Inserting a Micro SD Card

The FiiO M9 supports Micro SD cards up to 2TB for expanded storage. Locate the Micro SD card slot on the device. Gently insert the Micro SD card until it clicks into place. To remove, push the card in slightly until it springs out.

3.3 Connecting to a Computer (MTP Driver Installation)

The M9 uses the MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) for data transfer. To ensure proper recognition by your computer, the MTP driver may need to be installed.

1. Connect the M9 to your computer using the USB Type-C cable.
2. On your computer, open the disk named "FiiO MTP Driver".
3. For Windows computers: Copy the "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_1590.exe" file from the "Windows" folder to a local folder (e.g., desktop) and double-click to install.
4. For Mac computers: Install the driver located under the "Mac\OS MTP Client" folder.
5. After installation, your computer should be able to access the M9's internal storage and inserted Micro SD card.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off and Screen Control

• Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the screen lights up.
• Power Off: Press and hold the Power button, then select "Power Off" from the on-screen options.
• Screen On/Off: Briefly press the Power button to turn the screen on or off without powering down the device.

4.2 Basic Navigation

The FiiO M9 features a full touch screen for navigation. Swipe left/right, up/down, and tap icons to access various functions and settings.

4.3 Music Playback

To play music, navigate to the FiiO Music app on the device. You can browse music by artist, album, genre, or folder. Tap a song to begin playback. Use the physical buttons or on-screen controls for play/pause, skip tracks, and volume adjustment.

4.4 Pre-installed and Third-Party Applications

The M9 comes with several pre-installed third-party applications, including Tidal, MOOV, KKBOX, and NetEaseCloud. To ensure system stability, only certain applications from FiiO's whitelist are permitted for installation.

To install a whitelisted application:

1. Copy the APK file of the qualified application to the M9's internal storage or Micro SD card.
2. Open the "File Management" app on the M9.
3. Locate and tap on the APK file to initiate the installation process.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

5. Connectivity

5.1 Bluetooth Audio

The FiiO M9 supports a wide range of Bluetooth codecs, including aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, HWA, and SBC, for high-quality wireless audio transmission.

• Go to "Settings" > "Bluetooth" on the M9.
• Turn on Bluetooth and scan for available devices.
• Select your Bluetooth headphones or speaker from the list to pair.

5.2 Wi-Fi Music Streaming
