4. Care and Maintenance
4.1 Water Resistance (50M)
Your Casio W218H watch is water resistant up to 50 meters (165 feet). This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water. It is generally suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not for diving or snorkeling. Do not operate the watch buttons while it is wet or submerged in water.
4.2 Battery Life
The watch is equipped with a long-life battery, typically lasting up to 7 years under normal usage conditions. When the display becomes dim or functions become erratic, it may be time to replace the battery. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified technician to maintain water resistance.
4.3 Cleaning
To clean your watch, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild soap, then wipe dry. Avoid using chemical cleaners or solvents as they may damage the watch's resin components.
5. Troubleshooting
- Display is blank or dim: The battery may be low or depleted. Replace the battery.
- Time is incorrect: Re-adjust the time and date settings as described in Section 2.1. Ensure the correct AM/PM setting is selected.
- Alarm does not sound: Check if the alarm is activated (ON) in Alarm Mode. Ensure the volume is not muted if applicable (though this model typically has a fixed alarm sound).
- Water appears inside the watch: This indicates a breach in water resistance. Stop using the watch immediately and have it inspected and repaired by a qualified technician.
