3. Setup and Installation
3.1. Hard Drive Installation (Optional, HDD Not Included)
If you wish to record video, an internal 3.5-inch SATA hard drive must be installed. Follow these steps:
- Twist down the screws of the DVR: Locate and remove the screws on the DVR casing to open it.
- Access the hard disk bay: Carefully open the DVR cover to expose the internal components and the hard drive bay.
- Connect SATA cables: Connect the SATA data and power cables to the hard drive.
- Install the screws: Secure the hard drive within the bay using the provided screws.
- Close the DVR: Carefully replace the DVR cover and secure it with the screws.

3.2. Connecting Cameras and Peripherals
- Analog/AHD/TVI/CVI Cameras: Connect these cameras directly to the BNC video input ports on the rear panel using BNC video power cables.
- IP Cameras (ONVIF Compatible): Connect IP cameras to a network switch. Then, connect the network switch to the DVR's network port. Ensure both the DVR and IP cameras are on the same network segment.
- Monitor: Connect a monitor to the HDMI or VGA output port.
- Mouse: Connect the USB mouse to one of the USB ports for local control.
- Power: Connect the power adapter to the DVR and then to a power outlet.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Initial Setup and Configuration
Upon first power-on, the DVR will guide you through an initial setup wizard. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up basic parameters such as date/time, network settings, and password.
4.2. Local Operation
- Live View: Once cameras are connected, their feeds will appear on the connected monitor.
- Menu Navigation: Use the USB mouse to navigate the DVR's on-screen menu. The front panel buttons can also be used for basic navigation.
- Recording: If an HDD is installed, the DVR will automatically begin recording based on default settings (e.g., continuous recording). Recording schedules can be customized in the system settings.
- Playback: Access recorded footage through the playback menu. You can search by date, time, and event.
4.3. Remote Viewing via Mobile App (Xmeye)
To view your surveillance system remotely, download the "Xmeye" app on your iOS or Android device.
- Download App: Scan the QR code provided in the DVR's network settings or search for "Xmeye" in your device's app store.
- Register Account: Create an account within the Xmeye app.
- Add Device: In the app, select "Add Device" and scan the DVR's QR code (found in the DVR's network settings) or manually enter the device ID.
- Connect to Router: Ensure the DVR is connected to your internet router for remote access.
