4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the humidor from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Keep the packaging materials for future transport if needed.

4.2 Placement

Place the humidor on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is at least 10 cm (4 inches) of space around the back and sides for proper ventilation. Avoid placing it near direct sunlight, heating vents, or other heat-generating appliances.

4.3 Leveling

Adjust the leveling feet at the bottom of the unit to ensure it is perfectly level. This is crucial for proper door sealing and efficient operation.

4.4 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, wipe the interior and exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the interior is completely dry before proceeding.

4.5 Power Connection

Plug the humidor into a dedicated, grounded electrical outlet. Allow the unit to stand for at least 2 hours before plugging it in if it has been tilted during transport.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Control Panel Functions

  • Power Button (U): Press to turn the unit on or off.
  • Temperature Adjustment (▲ / ▼): Use the up and down arrows to set the desired temperature between 10°C and 22°C. The digital display will show the current internal temperature.

  • Light Button (☀): Press to turn the interior LED light on or off.

5.2 Seasoning the Humidor

Before storing cigars, it is essential to season the humidor to prevent the wood from absorbing moisture from your cigars. This process can take several days.

  1. Wipe down the interior cedar wood surfaces (shelves and walls) with a clean, damp cloth moistened with distilled water. Do not soak the wood.
  2. Fill the water tray with distilled water. Place it at the bottom of the humidor.
  3. Close the door and allow the humidor to stabilize for 24-48 hours.
  4. Monitor the digital hygrometer. Once it consistently reads between 65-72% relative humidity, the humidor is seasoned and ready for cigars.
  5. Repeat the wiping process if humidity levels do not rise sufficiently.

5.3 Loading Cigars

Once seasoned, carefully place your cigars on the wooden shelves. Avoid overfilling to allow for proper air circulation. Utilize the display shelves for showcasing your collection.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Exterior: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, use a mild detergent and water, then dry thoroughly.
  • Interior: Use a soft, damp cloth with distilled water only. Do not use soap or chemical cleaners inside, as they can contaminate your cigars.
  • Glass Door: Clean with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.

6.2 Water Tray Refilling

Regularly check the water level in the water tray. Refill with distilled water as needed to maintain desired humidity levels. Do not use tap water, as it can leave mineral deposits.
