Setup Instructions

1. Connect the Headset:
   • For USB-C models, plug the USB-C connector directly into your computer's USB-C port.
   • For USB-A models, plug the USB-A connector directly into your computer's USB-A port. If your computer only has USB-C, an appropriate adapter will be required.
   • Some models may also feature a 3.5mm audio jack for direct connection to compatible devices.
2. Initial Recognition: Your computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers for the headset. This may take a few moments.
3. Verify Audio Settings:
   • Open your computer's sound settings.
   • Select the Plantronics Blackwire headset as your default playback and recording device.
4. Install Plantronics Hub (Optional but Recommended):
   • For advanced settings, firmware updates, and personalized features, download and install the Plantronics Hub application from the official Plantronics website.

Operating Instructions

Wearing the Headset

• Adjust the headband for a comfortable and secure fit.
• Position the ear cushion over your ear. For monaural models, the headset can be worn on either the left or right ear by rotating the microphone boom.
• Position the flexible microphone boom approximately two finger-widths from the corner of your mouth.

Using the Inline Controls

The inline control unit provides convenient access to essential call management functions:

• Call Answer/End Button: Press to answer an incoming call or end an active call.
• Volume Up/Down Buttons: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the listening volume.
• Mute Button: Press to mute or unmute your microphone during a call.

Microphone Adjustment

The microphone boom is flexible and can be adjusted for optimal voice pickup. Ensure the microphone is positioned correctly to utilize its noise-canceling capabilities effectively.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Gently wipe the ear cushions and microphone with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling on the cable to prevent damage. Store the cable neatly when not in use.
• Storage: Store the headset in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

• No Audio/Microphone Not Working:
  • Ensure the headset is securely plugged into the correct port on your computer.
  • Check your computer's sound settings to confirm the Plantronics headset is selected as the default input/output device.
  • Verify the mute button on the inline control is not activated.
  • Restart your computer.
• Poor Audio Quality:
  • Adjust the volume using the inline controls or your computer's settings.
  • Ensure the microphone is positioned correctly, about two finger-widths from your mouth.
  • Check for any physical damage to the cable or connectors.
  • Update headset firmware via the Plantronics Hub application.
• Headset Not Recognized:
  • Try plugging the headset into a different USB port.
  • If using a USB-C to USB-A adapter, ensure the adapter is functioning correctly.
  • Reinstall the Plantronics Hub application.
