- Tighten the locking screws firmly to secure the base plate in position.
5. Operating
5.1 General Operation
Before starting, ensure your workpiece is securely clamped. Mark your cutting line clearly.

- Plug the jigsaw into a suitable power outlet (240V).
- Hold the jigsaw firmly with both hands, ensuring a stable grip on the ergonomic handle.
- Place the front edge of the base plate flat on the workpiece, with the blade clear of the material.
- Press the trigger switch to start the motor. For continuous operation, engage the lock-on switch.
- Allow the blade to reach full speed before slowly guiding it into the workpiece along your marked line.
- Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the tool; let the blade do the work.
- When finished, release the trigger switch (or disengage the lock-on switch) and wait for the blade to stop completely before lifting the tool from the workpiece.

5.2 Cutting Techniques
- Straight Cuts: Use a straight edge guide for long, accurate straight cuts.
- Curve Cuts: Guide the tool slowly along the curve. For tight curves, use a narrower blade.
- Plunge Cuts: For cuts in the middle of a workpiece without a pilot hole, tilt the tool forward so the front of the base plate rests on the material. Start the tool, then slowly pivot it down until the blade cuts through. Exercise extreme caution.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your jigsaw. Always unplug the tool before performing any maintenance.
- Cleaning: After each use, clean the tool with a soft, damp cloth. Remove sawdust and debris from the ventilation openings to prevent overheating. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Blade Replacement: Replace dull or damaged blades promptly. A sharp blade ensures clean cuts and reduces strain on the motor.
- Carbon Brushes: Periodically check the carbon brushes. If they are worn down, replace them with genuine FERM replacement parts. This should ideally be done by a qualified technician.
- Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage. If damaged, have it repaired by a qualified professional.
- Storage: Store the jigsaw in a dry, secure place, out of reach of children.
