1. Product Overview

The Rhino Rack Sunseeker 8'2" (2.5m) Awning provides a shaded area of approximately 5.15 square meters (55.38 sq. ft.). It is designed for mounting to your vehicle's roof rack, offering protection from sun with a UV50+ rating. The awning is constructed from 210D R/S water-resistant canvas, featuring a PU 2000mm water-resistant rating, and is mould and rust resistant. Its design allows for quick setup and pack down, making it suitable for various outdoor activities.

2. Safety Information

• Always ensure the awning is properly mounted and secured to your vehicle's roof rack.
• When not in use, store the awning in its heavy-duty PVC bag.
• Be aware of wind conditions and ensure the awning is properly anchored with pegs and ropes to prevent it from being damaged or causing injury.
• Roof racks must be periodically tightened, especially during the first week after installation, and checked regularly for damage and wear.

4. Setup & Installation

Follow these steps to properly install your Rhino Rack Sunseeker Awning:

1. Prepare Mounting Brackets: Attach the provided hardware to the L-shaped brackets, ensuring correct orientation of the plate nut on the underside. Finger-tighten initially.
2. Position Awning on Roof Rack: With assistance, lift the awning onto your vehicle's roof rack. Slide one bracket into the Pioneer accessory channel. Move the awning along the channel to position the second bracket.
3. Secure Awning: Reposition the awning to your desired location on the roof rack. Tighten the brackets to 4-5 Nm using a 13mm socket wrench. Ensure brackets sit evenly.
4. Install Pickup Mounting Points: Install the pickup mounting points in the accessory channel at the rear of the Pioneer, on the opposite side of the awning. Tighten with the provided Allen key.

5. Operating Instructions

The Sunseeker awning is designed for quick and easy deployment and pack down.

1. Deploying the Awning: Unzip the heavy-duty PVC carry bag. Unroll the awning fabric. Extend the sturdy telescopic poles and secure them into the designated points on the awning. Adjust pole height as needed.
2. Securing the Awning: Use the provided ropes and pegs to anchor the poles to the ground, ensuring stability, especially in windy conditions. Utilize Velcro tensioning tabs on the awning to aid water runoff.
3. Packing Away: Detach ropes and pegs. Retract telescopic poles. Fold the awning fabric neatly and roll it back into its heavy-duty PVC carry bag. Zip the bag securely.

6. Maintenance

• Regularly inspect the awning fabric for any tears, punctures, or signs of wear. Repair promptly to prevent further damage.
• Clean the awning fabric with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the material or its UV protection.
• Ensure the awning is completely dry before packing it away to prevent mould and mildew growth.
• Check all hardware, including bolts, nuts, poles, and ropes, for tightness and integrity before and after each use.
• Store the awning in its heavy-duty PVC bag in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

7. Troubleshooting

• Water Pooling: Ensure the telescopic poles are adjusted to create a slight slope, allowing water to run off. Utilize the Velcro tensioning tabs to improve water runoff.
• Awning Instability: Always use all provided ropes and pegs to secure the awning to the ground. Ensure poles are fully extended and locked. Avoid using the awning in strong winds.
• Difficulty Rolling Up: Ensure the fabric is free of debris and is folded neatly before rolling. Check that the arms are properly retracted and not obstructing the rolling mechanism.
