Introduction

The EDISION MULTI-FINDER is a versatile field strength meter designed for professional and amateur use, capable of measuring DVB-S/S2, DVB-T/T2, and DVB-C signals. It also supports H.265/HEVC decoding and includes CCTV testing functionalities for AHD/CVI/TVI/CVBS systems. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your device.

Setup

1. Unboxing and Initial Charge

Upon unboxing, ensure all accessories are present:

Before first use, fully charge the device using the provided power supply. Connect the power supply to the DC IN port on the device and plug it into a wall outlet. The charge indicator LED will illuminate.

2. Device Overview

Familiarize yourself with the device's front panel, rear panel, and controls.

3. Connecting Antennas/Cables

Connect your satellite dish LNB cable to the LNB IN port for DVB-S/S2 measurements. For terrestrial (DVB-T/T2) or cable (DVB-C) signals, connect the antenna/cable to the ANT IN port. Ensure connections are secure.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On and Main Menu

Press the power button to turn on the device. The 7-inch LCD screen will display the main menu, offering options such as Installation, Spectrum, Service, Media, CCTV, Audio/Video, System, and Application.

2. Signal Measurement (DVB-S/S2, DVB-T/T2, DVB-C)

1. Navigate to the Installation menu.
2. Select the desired signal type: DVB-S/S2 (Satellite), DVB-T/T2 (Terrestrial), or DVB-C (Cable).
3. For satellite, select the satellite and transponder. Adjust LNB settings (DiSEqC, USALS, Unicable) as needed.
4. For terrestrial/cable, select the appropriate frequency or channel.
5. Observe the signal strength and quality indicators. The device provides real-time feedback to assist with antenna alignment.
6. Utilize the Spectrum Analyzer (accessible from the main menu or within Installation) for detailed frequency analysis.

3. CCTV Testing

The MULTI-FINDER can test various CCTV camera types:

• Connect the CCTV camera's video output to the BNC IN port.
• Navigate to the CCTV menu from the main screen.
• Select the camera type (AHD/TVI/CVI/CVBS). The device will display the camera's video feed.
• Use the DC OUT (12V/1A) port to power compatible cameras directly from the device.
• For PTZ cameras, connect the control cable to the RS485 port and use the on-screen controls for pan, tilt, and zoom functions.

4. Media Playback and HDMI/AV Functions

The device supports media playback and external display connections:

• Media: Insert a USB drive into the USB port to play supported audio/video files.
• HDMI/AV Output: Connect an external display (TV, monitor) to the HD OUT or AV OUT port to view the device's screen on a larger display.
• HDMI/AV Input: Connect an external video source (e.g., a set-top box) to the HD IN or AV IN port to display its content on the MULTI-FINDER's screen.

Maintenance

1. Battery Care

The device is equipped with a removable 6300mAh Lithium battery. To maximize battery life:

• Fully charge the battery before first use.
• Avoid completely discharging the battery frequently.
• If storing the device for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% and store in a cool, dry place.
• The battery is user-replaceable. Refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for replacement.

2. Software Updates

Keep your device's software updated to ensure optimal performance and access to new features. Updates can be performed via USB or HTTP:

• USB Update: Download the latest firmware from the official EDISION website to a USB drive. Insert the USB drive into the device's USB port and follow the on-screen instructions in the System menu.
• HTTP Update: Connect the device to the internet via the LAN port. Navigate to the System menu and select the HTTP update option.

3. Cleaning

Clean the device regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials. Keep the screen free of dust and smudges for clear visibility.
