Setup

1. Setting the Time and Date

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
  2. Set the time: Rotate the crown to move the hands clockwise until the desired time is displayed. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set if your watch has a date function (the date changes around midnight).
  3. Set the date: Push the crown in one click to the first click position. Rotate the crown to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this can interfere with the date change mechanism.
  4. Push in the crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into its normal position. The second hand will resume movement.

2. Bracelet Adjustment

The stainless steel bracelet is designed for a secure and comfortable fit. If the bracelet requires adjustment (adding or removing links), it is recommended to seek assistance from a qualified jeweler or Citizen service center to prevent damage to the watch or bracelet.

Operating Your Watch

Timekeeping

Your Citizen Quartz watch is powered by a precise quartz movement, ensuring accurate timekeeping. Once the time and date are set, the watch will operate continuously until the battery requires replacement.

Water Resistance (100 Meters)

This watch is water resistant up to 100 meters (10 BAR). This rating makes it suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and showering. However, it is not recommended for scuba diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water. Do not operate the crown while the watch is wet or submerged.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and bracelet regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish.

Battery Replacement

Your quartz watch is powered by a lithium-ion battery. When the battery runs low, the second hand may start to move in two-second intervals (End-of-Life indicator). It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a Citizen authorized service center or a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.

Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. The original watch box can be used for storage.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch not running:
    • Check if the crown is fully pushed in.
    • The battery may need replacement. Refer to the "Battery Replacement" section.
  • Incorrect time or date:
    • Reset the time and date according to the "Setting the Time and Date" instructions.
    • If the issue persists after battery replacement, professional inspection may be required.
  • Condensation inside the crystal:
    • This indicates a potential breach in water resistance. Immediately take the watch to a Citizen authorized service center for inspection and repair to prevent further damage.
