4. Operation

Using AC Outlets:

  • Plug your electronic devices directly into the three available AC outlets on the front of the surge protector.
  • Ensure that the total power draw of all connected devices does not exceed the surge protector's maximum electrical rating.

Using USB Charging Ports:

  • Connect your USB-powered devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets) to any of the four USB ports using appropriate charging cables.
  • The USB ports provide a combined output of 4.8 AMPs, suitable for charging multiple devices simultaneously. Charging speed may vary depending on the number of devices connected and their individual power requirements.

Indicator Lights:

  • Protected (Green LED): This light indicates that the surge protection feature is active and your devices are protected from power surges. If this light is off, the surge protection has been compromised, and the unit should be replaced.
  • Grounded (Green LED): This light indicates that the wall outlet is properly grounded, which is essential for effective surge protection. If this light is off, the outlet may not be grounded, and an electrician should be consulted.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Disconnect the surge protector from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Replacement: The surge protection components wear out over time and with each surge event. If the 'Protected' indicator light turns off, the surge protection is no longer active, and the unit should be replaced to ensure continued protection for your devices.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power to Devices:
    • Ensure the surge protector is firmly plugged into a working wall outlet.
    • Check if the 'Protected' and 'Grounded' indicator lights are illuminated green. If not, refer to the 'Indicator Lights' section.
    • Test the wall outlet with another device to confirm it is functional.
  • Slow USB Charging:
    • The total output for all USB ports is 4.8 AMPs. Charging multiple devices simultaneously may distribute this power, resulting in slower charging for individual devices.
    • Ensure your charging cable is not damaged and is suitable for your device.
  • 'Protected' Light is Off:
    • This indicates that the surge protection components have absorbed a surge and are no longer active. The unit will still provide power, but without surge protection. Replace the unit immediately for continued protection.
  • 'Grounded' Light is Off:
    • This indicates that the wall outlet is not properly grounded. Consult a qualified electrician to inspect and correct the wiring of your outlet. The surge protector cannot provide effective protection without a proper ground.
