Important Safety Instructions

When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons.

  • Read all instructions before using the iron.
  • Use the iron only for its intended use.
  • To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
  • Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging from the electrical outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
  • Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
  • The iron should always be turned to "Min" before plugging or unplugging from outlet.
  • Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron. Contact qualified service personnel for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used.
  • Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board.
  • Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
  • This appliance is for household use only.

  • To restart the iron, simply move it. The indicator light will flash until the iron reaches the selected temperature.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Soleplate

To clean the soleplate, use a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners as they can scratch the soleplate.

Anti-Calc System / Self-Clean

Your iron features an integrated anti-calc system to reduce mineral buildup. For optimal performance, perform the self-clean function regularly (e.g., once a month).

  1. Fill the water tank to the MAX line.
  2. Plug in the iron and set the temperature to maximum.
  3. Once the iron reaches temperature, unplug it.
  4. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
  5. Press and hold the self-clean button. Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, carrying away impurities.
  6. Gently shake the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
  7. Plug the iron back in and let it heat up to dry the soleplate.
  8. Unplug and store the iron once cooled.

Storage

After each use, empty the water tank. Allow the iron to cool completely before storing it in a vertical position to prevent damage to the soleplate.
