The Oster PrimaLatte II is a compact espresso machine featuring an Italian pump for gourmet coffee preparation. It includes a removable 1.2L water reservoir and a milk frother for cappuccinos and lattes.

Setup
Unpacking
Remove all packaging materials and accessories. Ensure all components listed in the 'Parts for Assembly' section are present.
Initial Cleaning
Before first use, wash the water tank, milk reservoir, portafilter, and filters with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
Water Reservoir Filling
Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water. Do not exceed the MAX line. Ensure the reservoir is properly seated.

Power Connection
Connect the power cord to a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches your machine's requirements (110 Volts for this model).
Priming the Pump
Before first use, or if the machine has not been used for a long time, prime the pump by running a cycle without coffee or milk until water flows smoothly.

Operating Instructions
The Oster PrimaLatte II allows you to use ground coffee, E.S.E. pods, or Nespresso Original Line capsules.
Preparing Espresso
Using Ground Coffee:
- Select the appropriate filter (single or double espresso) and place it in the portafilter.
- Fill the filter with ground espresso coffee. Tamp the coffee firmly with the tamper.
- Attach the portafilter to the brewing head by twisting it firmly to the right.
- Place your cup(s) on the adjustable drip tray.
- Press the "Espresso" button once for a single shot or twice for a double shot.
Using E.S.E. Pods:
- Place an E.S.E. pod into the single espresso filter.
- Attach the portafilter to the brewing head.
- Place your cup on the drip tray.
- Press the "Espresso" button.
Using Nespresso Original Line Capsules:
- Insert a Nespresso Original Line capsule into the dedicated capsule filter.
- Place the capsule filter into the portafilter.
- Attach the portafilter to the brewing head.
- Place your cup on the drip tray.
- Press the "Espresso" button.

Preparing Milk-Based Beverages (Latte, Cappuccino)
- Fill the milk reservoir with cold milk. Do not exceed the MAX line.
- Ensure the milk frother nozzle is correctly positioned over your cup.
- Select "Latte" or "Cappuccino" button on the control panel.
- The machine will automatically brew espresso and froth milk into your cup.
- You can adjust the foam level using the knob on the side of the milk reservoir.

Customizing Espresso Volume
To customize the amount of espresso, press and hold the "Espresso" button under "Al Gusto" until the desired volume is reached. The machine will remember this setting for future use.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of your espresso machine.
Daily Cleaning:
- After each use, remove and empty the portafilter. Rinse it and the filter thoroughly.
- Empty and rinse the drip tray.
- Clean the milk frother nozzle immediately after use to prevent milk residue buildup. Run a short steam cycle to clear any blockages.
- Wipe down the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
Weekly Cleaning:
- Disassemble and thoroughly clean the milk reservoir and its components with warm, soapy water.
- Clean the brewing head with a damp cloth to remove any coffee grounds.
Descaling:
Descale the machine regularly (e.g., every 2-3 months, depending on water hardness) using a descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines. Follow the descaling instructions provided with the solution.
Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter.
No Coffee Dispensed:
- Ensure the water reservoir is filled and correctly seated.
- Check if the machine is powered on and heated up (indicator lights solid).
- Verify the portafilter is properly locked into place.
- Clean the filter and brewing head for any blockages.
Weak Espresso / Poor Crema:
- Use fresh, finely ground espresso coffee.
- Ensure coffee is properly tamped in the filter.
- Check for proper descaling if the machine has not been descaled recently.
No Milk Froth / Insufficient Foam:
- Ensure the milk reservoir is filled with cold milk.
- Clean the milk frother nozzle thoroughly to remove any dried milk residue.
- Check the foam adjustment knob setting.
Machine Leaking:
- Ensure the water reservoir and drip tray are correctly positioned.
- Check that the portafilter is securely locked.
- If leaking persists, contact customer support.
