1. Introduction and Overview

The Rev-A-Shelf SERVO-DRIVE Kit is designed to enhance the functionality of Legrabox pullout waste containers. This system allows for automatic opening of your waste container with a light touch of the door front or a gentle pull of the handle. It integrates an electric drive that activates to open the door, providing a hands-free operation. Combined with the silent and effortless closing action of BLUM, the SERVO-DRIVE system delivers a high-quality motion experience in the kitchen.

Key Features:

  • Includes (1) SERVO-DRIVE unit for bottom mount waste containers and power connection.
  • Electric servo mechanism opens 5LB series waste containers with a simple nudge.
  • Compatible with any Rev-A-Shelf 5LB Series Waste Containers (sold separately).
  • Requires an electrical outlet inside the cabinet for operation.
  • Adjustable door-mount brackets are included and essential for proper function.

2. Setup and Installation

Proper installation of the SERVO-DRIVE Kit is crucial for optimal performance. Ensure you have all components as shown in the kit overview image before beginning. An electrical outlet must be available inside the cabinet where the unit will be installed.

Carefully measure your cabinet opening to ensure compatibility and proper fit. Refer to the Minimum Cabinet Opening (MCO) guidelines to account for both framed and frameless cabinet designs, and check for any obstructions like door hinges or plumbing.

Secure the power cable using the provided cable clips to prevent interference with the pullout mechanism. Ensure the cable is routed safely and does not get pinched or damaged during operation.

3. Operating Instructions

The SERVO-DRIVE Kit provides a convenient, hands-free method for accessing your pullout waste container. To open the container, simply apply a light touch or nudge to the cabinet door. The electric servo will activate, smoothly pushing the door open.

Once open, the system allows for easy access to the waste container. When you are finished, gently push the door back towards the cabinet. The BLUM soft-close mechanism will engage, ensuring the door closes silently and completely.

4. Care and Maintenance

Rev-A-Shelf storage and organization products are manufactured with durable, high-quality materials. Regular maintenance helps ensure their longevity and continued smooth operation. Perform the following tasks as needed:

Wipe Clean:

Occasionally, products may accumulate dirt from everyday use. Handwash with soap and water, wiping dry promptly. Avoid abrasive cleaners, bleach, and cleaners containing chemicals or oils that can damage plastic polymers or finishes on wood and metal.

Adjust:

If needed, maintenance consists of simply adjusting a bracket or tightening a screw or bolt that has become loose over time from normal use.

Grease:

Products with pivot, pull, and slide mechanisms are typically mounted on a slide system coated with a multi-purpose grease. You should not need to apply more grease. If lubrication is required, use a good quality multi-purpose grease. Do not use any spray lubricant, as this can break down the existing grease over time.

5. Troubleshooting

If your SERVO-DRIVE Kit is not functioning as expected, consider the following:

  • Power Supply: Ensure the unit is properly plugged into a functional electrical outlet inside the cabinet. Check if the outlet is receiving power.
  • Connections: Verify that all electrical connections to the SERVO-DRIVE unit are secure and undamaged.
  • Obstructions: Inspect the area around the pullout waste container and the SERVO-DRIVE unit for any obstructions that might be impeding movement.
  • Door-Mount Brackets: Confirm that the adjustable door-mount brackets are correctly installed and aligned, and not causing any binding or resistance.
  • Reset: If applicable, consult the full product manual for any specific reset procedures for the SERVO-DRIVE unit.
