Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Roku Ultra streaming player:

1. Connect to TV: Plug one end of the included Premium High-Speed HDMI® Cable into the HDMI port on your Roku Ultra and the other end into an available HDMI input on your TV.

2. Connect to Power: Connect the power adapter to the DC IN port on the back of your Roku Ultra, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
3. Connect to Internet:
   • Wireless: The Roku Ultra supports enhanced wireless performance. During the on-screen setup, you will be prompted to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
   • Wired (Ethernet): For a more stable connection, plug an Ethernet cable from your router into the Ethernet port on the back of your Roku Ultra.
4. Initial Setup: Turn on your TV and select the HDMI input your Roku Ultra is connected to. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process, including connecting to the internet, creating or logging into your Roku account, and activating channels.

Using the Enhanced Voice Remote

The included voice remote offers convenient features for controlling your streaming experience and TV.

• Navigation: Use the directional pad (purple cross) to navigate menus and select items. The "OK" button confirms selections.
• Voice Search: Press and hold the microphone button on the remote and speak your command or search query. This allows for quick content discovery across various channels.
• TV Controls: The remote includes buttons for TV power and volume, allowing you to control your TV directly without needing a separate remote.
• Personal Shortcuts: Utilize the customizable shortcut buttons (A and B) to quickly launch your favorite channels or perform specific actions.
• Private Listening: Plug the included headphones into the 3.5mm jack on the side of the remote for private listening. The TV audio will automatically mute.

• Lost Remote Finder: If you misplace your remote, press the remote finder button on the Roku Ultra player itself (located on the top, near the Roku logo). The remote will emit an audible tone to help you locate it.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of your Roku Ultra player and remote. Avoid using liquid cleaners or aerosols.
• Software Updates: Your Roku Ultra will automatically download and install software updates when connected to the internet. Ensure your device remains connected to receive the latest features and performance improvements.
• Remote Batteries: The remote uses two AA batteries. Replace them when the remote's indicator light blinks or when the remote becomes unresponsive.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Roku Ultra, try the following solutions:

• No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Roku Ultra and a working wall outlet.
• No Picture/Signal:
  • Verify the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the Roku Ultra and your TV.
  • Ensure your TV is set to the correct HDMI input.
  • Try a different HDMI port on your TV or a different HDMI cable.
• Remote Not Responding:
  • Replace the batteries in the remote.
  • If the remote is paired via Wi-Fi Direct, try re-pairing it by holding the pairing button inside the battery compartment until the indicator light blinks.
  • Use the remote finder button on the player to confirm the remote is receiving power.
• Buffering/Poor Streaming Quality:
  • Check your internet connection speed.
  • Move your Roku Ultra closer to your wireless router or use an Ethernet cable for a wired connection.
  • Restart your router and modem.
  • Close other applications or devices that might be consuming bandwidth.
• Factory Reset: If problems persist, you may need to perform a factory reset. This will erase all settings and installed channels. To do this, locate the reset button (often a small pinhole) on the device and press it with a paperclip for about 10 seconds until the indicator light blinks rapidly.
