Setup

Filter Replacement:

  • Filter Change Indicator: A light on the control panel will illuminate when it's time to replace the HEPA filter.
  • Replacing the Combination Filter (Type J, FLT5900):
    1. Unplug the unit.
    2. Open the back cover.
    3. Remove the old filter.
    4. Insert a new GermGuardian FLT5900 (Type J) filter, ensuring the pre-filter side faces outwards.
    5. Close the back cover.
    6. Plug in the unit. Press and hold the NIGHT LIGHT / HEPA RESET button for 5 seconds to reset the filter indicator.
  • Replacing the UV-C Bulb:
    1. Unplug the unit.
    2. Open the back cover and remove the HEPA filter.
    3. Carefully remove the old UV-C bulb by twisting and pulling.
    4. Insert a new GermGuardian UV-C bulb (model LB5000) by aligning the pins and twisting to secure.
    5. Reinstall the HEPA filter and close the back cover.
    6. Plug in the unit. Press and hold the UV MODE / UV RESET button for 5 seconds to reset the UV-C indicator.
