2. Safety Information

  • Indoor Use Only: This timer is designed for indoor use in dry locations. Do not expose to water or moisture.
  • Electrical Rating: Do not exceed the maximum load of 8 Amps, 960 Watts resistive, 600W Tungsten. Overloading the timer can cause damage or fire.
  • Grounding: Ensure the timer is plugged into a properly grounded 120VAC, 60Hz outlet.
  • Cleaning: Disconnect from power before cleaning. Use a dry cloth; do not use liquid cleaners.

3.1. Components

  • LCD Display: Shows current time, day, program status, and settings.
  • SET Button: Enters programming mode and confirms selections.
  • DOWN Button: Decreases values or moves backward through options.
  • ON/OFF Button: Manually turns connected devices ON or OFF, or switches between modes.
  • UP Button: Increases values or moves forward through options.
  • RND (Random) Button: Activates or deactivates the random ON/OFF feature.
  • RESET Button: Resets all settings to factory defaults. Use a pointed object (e.g., pen tip) to press.

4. Setup

4.1. Initial Power-Up and Reset

  1. Plug the timer into a standard 120VAC, 60Hz wall outlet.
  2. The LCD display will illuminate. If the display is blank or shows erratic characters, press the RESET button using a small pointed object. This will clear all previous settings and ensure proper operation.

4.2. Setting Current Time and Day

After resetting, or if the time is incorrect, follow these steps:

  1. Press the SET button once. The hour digit will flash.
  2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the hour. Pay attention to AM/PM indicators.
  3. Press SET again. The minute digit will flash.
  4. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the minutes.
  5. Press SET again. The day of the week will flash.
  6. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to select the current day (MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU).
  7. Press SET one last time to confirm and exit time setting mode. The display will show the current time and day.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Manual ON/OFF

To manually control the connected appliance:

  • Press the ON/OFF button. Each press will cycle through:
    • ON: The appliance will stay on continuously.
    • OFF: The appliance will stay off continuously.
    • AUTO: The timer will operate according to the programmed settings.

5.2. Random Mode (RND)

The random mode can be used to simulate occupancy, turning connected devices ON and OFF at irregular intervals within a set period. This feature is useful for security when you are away from home.

  • Press the RND button to activate or deactivate this mode.
  • When activated, 'RND' will appear on the display. The timer will then turn devices ON and OFF randomly, overriding programmed settings.
  • Press RND again to deactivate. The timer will return to its previous mode (ON, OFF, or AUTO).

5.3. Daylight Saving Time (DST)

To adjust for Daylight Saving Time:

  • Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds. The display will show 'DST' and the time will advance by one hour.
  • Repeat the process to revert to standard time.

6. Programming

The timer allows for up to 20 ON/OFF programs. Each program can be set for specific days or groups of days.

6.1. Setting a Program

  1. Press the SET button repeatedly until '1 ON' appears on the display. This indicates the first ON program.
  2. Press SET. The hour digit will flash. Use UP or DOWN to set the desired ON hour.
  3. Press SET. The minute digit will flash. Use UP or DOWN to set the desired ON minute.
  4. Press SET. The day(s) of the week will flash. Use UP or DOWN to select the desired day combination for this program. Options include:
    • MO TU WE TH FR SA SU (Every day)
    • MO TU WE TH FR (Weekdays)
    • SA SU (Weekends)
    • MO TU WE TH FR SA (Mon-Sat)
    • MO WE FR
    • TU TH SA
    • MO TU WE
    • TH FR SA
    • Individual days (MO, TU, WE, etc.)
  5. Press SET to confirm the ON time and day(s).
  6. The display will now show '1 OFF'. Repeat steps 2-5 to set the desired OFF time and day(s) for the first program.
  7. After setting '1 OFF', press SET to move to '2 ON' and continue programming additional ON/OFF cycles (up to 20).
  8. To exit programming mode at any time, stop pressing buttons for approximately 10 seconds, or press the ON/OFF button.

6.2. Reviewing Programs

To review your programmed settings, repeatedly press the SET button. The display will cycle through all 20 ON/OFF programs. If a program is not set, it will show '--:--'.

6.3. Deleting a Program

To delete a specific program:

  1. Press the SET button repeatedly until the desired program (e.g., '5 ON') is displayed.
  2. Press the ON/OFF button. The display will show '--:--' for that program, indicating it has been cleared.
  3. Repeat for the corresponding OFF program (e.g., '5 OFF').

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning

Disconnect the timer from the power outlet before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the unit in water.

7.2. Battery Backup

The timer includes a rechargeable battery backup that maintains your programmed settings during a power outage. This battery charges automatically when the timer is plugged into an active outlet. No user maintenance is required for the battery.
