Irudek Miniblok SE-H
User Manual
1. Introduction
The Irudek Miniblok SE-H is a retractable fall arrester designed to provide reliable fall protection in various professional applications. Its intuitive design ensures ease of use while maintaining high safety standards. This manual contains important information regarding the proper setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your device. Please read it thoroughly before use to ensure your safety and the longevity of the product.
2. Product Overview

Figure 1: Irudek Miniblok SE-H Retractable Fall Arrester. This image shows the complete fall arrester unit, including the main retractable body, the aluminum screw-gate upper carabiner, the energy absorber sleeve, and the large lower carabiner with a 60mm opening.
The Miniblok SE-H features a robust aluminum construction, a retractable lifeline, and an integrated energy absorber. It is equipped with an aluminum screw-gate carabiner for attachment to the anchor point and a large lower carabiner (60mm opening) for connection to the user's harness. A swivel ring is included to prevent twisting of the lifeline.
3. Setup and Installation
- Pre-Use Inspection: Before each use, visually inspect the entire device for any signs of damage, wear, corrosion, or deformation. Check the housing, lifeline, carabiners, and energy absorber. Ensure all markings and labels are legible. Do not use the device if any damage is found.
- Anchor Point Selection: Attach the upper aluminum screw-gate carabiner to a suitable anchor point that meets relevant safety standards (e.g., EN 795). The anchor point must be capable of withstanding the forces generated during a fall. Ensure the carabiner gate is fully closed and locked.
- User Connection: Connect the large lower carabiner to the dorsal or sternal attachment point of your full-body harness. Ensure the carabiner gate is fully closed and locked.
- Clearance Requirements: Verify that there is sufficient clearance below the work area to prevent impact with the ground or any obstacles in the event of a fall. Consider the total length of the device (2 meters), the energy absorber deployment, and the user's height.
4. Operating Instructions
The Irudek Miniblok SE-H operates automatically, providing continuous fall protection. The lifeline extends and retracts as the user moves, maintaining slight tension to minimize slack. In the event of a sudden acceleration (a fall), the mechanical braking system activates rapidly, arresting the fall and deploying the energy absorber to reduce impact forces on the user.
- Movement: Move freely within the working radius. The device will automatically manage the lifeline length.
- Fall Arrest: If a fall occurs, the device will lock instantly. Remain calm and await rescue.
- Post-Fall: After a fall, the device must be immediately removed from service and inspected by a competent person or returned to the manufacturer for assessment. It must not be reused until certified safe.
5. Maintenance and Storage
- Regular Inspection: In addition to pre-use checks, conduct periodic detailed inspections of the device at least every 12 months, or more frequently depending on usage and environmental conditions. These inspections must be carried out by a competent person.
- Cleaning: Clean the device with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow it to air dry completely in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Storage: Store the Miniblok SE-H in a cool, dry, dark, and well-ventilated place, free from corrosive substances, extreme temperatures, and direct sunlight. Ensure it is protected from mechanical damage.
- Transportation: When transporting, protect the device from sharp objects, chemicals, and excessive moisture.
