Safety Instructions
Always adhere to general power tool safety guidelines. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. Ensure your work area is clean, well-lit, and free from obstructions. Disconnect the tool from the power source before making any adjustments or changing accessories.
- Keep hands and body clear of the cutting area during operation.
- Secure the workpiece to prevent movement during beveling.
- Do not operate the tool in damp or wet conditions.
- Ensure proper ventilation to disperse metal chips and dust.
- Regularly inspect the power cord for damage.
Setup
Before initial use, ensure all components are present and properly assembled. The tool comes with 3 SQ4 carbide inserts, a 4mm hex key, a carrying case, the tool itself, and a Torx 15 driver.
Attaching the Guide Plate and Handle
- Place the beveling tool on a stable surface.
- Attach the guide plate to the front of the tool using the provided fasteners. Ensure it is securely tightened.
- Attach the bail handle to the top of the tool. This handle adjusts without tools for secure and even guiding during operation.
Adjusting for Pipe Diameter (Stop Roller)
For pipe applications, the stop roller guides the tool along the pipe for easy weld seam preparation. The guide plate features markings for different pipe diameters (e.g., D50 for 2-inch, D100 for 4-inch, D150 for 6-inch, D200 for 8-inch). Adjust the guide plate to the appropriate diameter setting using the included tools to ensure the stop roller is correctly positioned against the pipe's outer diameter.

Operating Instructions
The Metabo KFM 16-15 F is designed for efficient metal beveling. Always ensure the workpiece is stable and secured before beginning operation.
Setting Cutting Depth and Chamfer Angle
- Cutting Depth: Utilize the patented one-touch controller for tool-free setting of the cutting depth in 0.1-inch steps. This system includes stop points for quick adjustments and protection against unintentional changes during work.
- Chamfer Angle: The chamfer angle can be precisely set directly using the guide plate. The tool supports all chamfer angles from 0-90° with its universal carbide burr, which features three carbide inserts.

Beveling Process
With the depth and angle set, position the tool firmly on the edge of the workpiece. Engage the power and guide the tool smoothly along the edge. The large-surface guide plates ensure controlled work. The tool's design includes metal sheet sides to deflect chips, enhancing user protection.
