• Fuel Handling: Handle fuel in a well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources. Do not smoke while refueling.

Setup

1. Unpacking and Assembly

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. The chainsaw comes partially assembled. You will need to attach the guide bar and saw chain.

1. Place the chainsaw on a stable, flat surface.
2. Remove the chain cover by loosening the two nuts.
3. Mount the guide bar onto the studs, ensuring the chain tensioner pin fits into the hole on the guide bar.
4. Carefully place the saw chain around the sprocket and into the groove of the guide bar. Ensure the cutting edges of the chain are facing the correct direction (refer to the arrow on the guide bar or chainsaw body).
5. Replace the chain cover and hand-tighten the nuts. Do not fully tighten yet.
6. Adjust the chain tension using the tensioning screw. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be no sag on the underside of the guide bar.
7. Once the tension is correct, fully tighten the chain cover nuts.

2. Fuel and Oil Filling

This chainsaw operates on a petrol-oil mixture and requires separate chain oil for lubrication.

• Fuel Mixture: Use a mixture of unleaded petrol and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil. The recommended mixing ratio is typically 1:40 (2.5% oil). Always refer to the specific ratio indicated in the chainsaw's manual or on the fuel cap. Use the provided mixing bottle for accurate measurement.
• Chain Oil: Fill the chain oil tank with biodegradable chain lubricant. Do not use waste oil or motor oil, as this can damage the pump and chain.

Important: Always fill both tanks before starting work. The automatic chain lubrication system ensures the chain is continuously oiled during operation.

Operating Instructions

1. Starting the Chainsaw (Cold Start)

1. Place the chainsaw on a firm, flat surface. Ensure the chain brake is engaged (pushed forward).
2. Press the primer bulb 5-10 times until fuel is visible in the return line.
3. Pull the choke lever out to the full choke position.
4. Hold the chainsaw firmly with one hand on the front handle and place your foot through the rear handle for stability.
5. Pull the starter rope handle slowly until resistance is felt, then pull sharply and quickly until the engine briefly fires (usually after 1-3 pulls).
6. Push the choke lever halfway in (half-choke position).
7. Pull the starter rope again until the engine starts.
8. Once the engine is running, immediately push the choke lever fully in. Allow the engine to warm up for a few seconds at idle.
9. Disengage the chain brake (pull back towards the front handle) before beginning to cut.

2. Starting the Chainsaw (Warm Start)

If the engine is warm, the choke may not be necessary. Simply engage the chain brake and pull the starter rope until the engine starts.

3. Cutting Techniques

Always maintain a balanced stance and firm grip on both handles. Let the chainsaw do the work; do not force it through the wood.

• Felling: For felling trees, always plan your escape route and ensure no one is in the felling zone. Make a directional notch first, then the felling cut.
• Limbing: When limbing, work from the bottom up, removing smaller branches first. Be aware of branches under tension.
• Bucking: When cutting logs into sections, use a sawhorse or support the log to prevent pinching the guide bar. Use the metal claw stop for leverage and control.

4. Stopping the Chainsaw

• Empty and clean the fuel and oil tanks if storing for an extended period.

3. Chain Sharpening

A sharp chain is essential for efficient and safe cutting. Use a round file of the correct diameter (typically 4.0 mm for this chain type, but verify with chain specifications) and a filing guide. Sharpen each cutter evenly.
