Setup and Installation

The UCH48T portable heater is designed for easy setup. Follow these steps for safe and effective operation:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Placement: Place the heater on a stable, level surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance from walls, furniture, and any combustible materials (minimum 3 feet / 0.9 meters). Do not block air inlets or outlets.
  3. Power Connection: The heater comes with a 6ft cable and a V-plug (NEMA 6-30P). Connect the plug directly into a compatible 240V, 30A receptacle. Do not use extension cords or power strips.

  5. Handle and Cord Storage: The sturdy handle on top of the unit also functions as a convenient cord storage rack. Wrap the power cord around the handle when the heater is not in use or for transport.

Operating Instructions

To operate your Uniwatt by Stelpro UCH48T heater:

  1. Power On: Once plugged into a suitable outlet, the heater is ready for operation.
  2. Adjusting Temperature: Locate the adjustable thermostat knob, typically found at the rear of the unit. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the desired temperature setting, and counter-clockwise to decrease it. The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.

  4. Heating Element and Fan: The heater utilizes a nickel-chrome alloy heating element and a fan to efficiently distribute heat. The fan will operate when the heating element is active.

  6. Thermal Protection: The unit is equipped with automatic thermal protection that resets itself. If the heater overheats, it will automatically shut off and restart once it has cooled down to a safe operating temperature.
