5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Main Unit: Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit. Insert 3 x AA (Mignon) 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.
- Remote Sensor: Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote sensor. Insert 2 x AAA (Micro) 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment.
It is recommended to insert batteries into the remote sensor first, then the main unit, to facilitate immediate pairing.
5.2 Sensor Pairing
Upon battery installation, the main unit will automatically attempt to connect with the remote sensor. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings should appear on the main unit's display within a few minutes. If connection is not established, ensure the sensor is within the 30-meter range and free from major obstructions. You may need to press the 'CH' button on the main unit to manually search for the sensor.
5.3 Automatic Time Tuning (DCF)
The Bresser 7007500GY Weather Station features automatic time tuning via a radio signal (DCF). After initial power-up, the unit will attempt to receive the time signal. This process may take several minutes or hours depending on your location and signal strength. Ensure the unit is placed away from electronic interference for optimal reception.
5.4 Initial Settings
If the automatic time tuning is not successful or if you wish to set parameters manually, refer to the 'Operating' section for detailed instructions on setting time, date, and other preferences.
6. Operating the Weather Station
6.1 Display Overview
The LCD display is organized into five main sections, providing a clear overview of various data points:
- Outdoor Section: Displays outdoor temperature, humidity, and weather forecast symbols.
- Indoor Section: Displays indoor temperature, humidity, and a comfort indicator.
- Time/Date Section: Shows current time, date, and day of the week.
- Pressure History: Illustrates atmospheric pressure trends over time.
- Astronomical Data: Includes sunrise, sunset, moon phases, and tide information.

6.2 Setting Time and Date
If the automatic DCF signal is not received, you can manually set the time and date. Refer to the buttons on the front panel (e.g., 'SET', 'MODE', 'UP', 'DOWN') to navigate through settings and adjust values. The manual supports language functions for English, German, and Spanish.
6.3 Alarm Function
The weather station includes a double wake-up time feature with a snooze function. Use the dedicated alarm button (often indicated by a bell icon) to set and activate alarms.
6.4 Weather Forecast and Trends
The station provides a weather forecast based on atmospheric pressure changes, displayed using intuitive symbols (e.g., sunny, cloudy, rainy). It also shows temperature trends and a climate indicator.
6.5 Temperature and Frost Warning
The unit can be configured to provide warnings for specific temperature thresholds or frost conditions. Consult the specific button functions for setting these alerts.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the main unit and remote sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the display or casing. Ensure no moisture enters the device.
7.2 Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries in both the main unit and the remote sensor. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in Section 5.1. It is recommended to replace all batteries simultaneously to ensure consistent performance.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display on main unit | Batteries are dead or incorrectly inserted. | Replace batteries with new ones, ensuring correct polarity. |
| Outdoor readings not displayed or inaccurate | Sensor out of range, low sensor batteries, interference. | Move sensor closer to the main unit (within 30m). Replace sensor batteries. Avoid placing near large metal objects or electronics. Press 'CH' button to re-establish connection. |
| Time not setting automatically | Weak DCF signal, interference. | Relocate the main unit to an area with better signal reception, away from electronic devices. Manually set the time if automatic reception is consistently poor. |
| Display difficult to read | Poor viewing angle, low batteries. | Adjust viewing angle. Replace batteries. The display has a backlight function for temporary illumination. |
