Setup
- Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove the Masterplug Cord Reel from its packaging. Ensure all components, including the reel and any included accessories, are present and undamaged.
- Position the Reel: Place the cord reel on a stable, flat surface. The heavy-duty steel stand provides stability. Ensure the reel is positioned away from water sources or excessive moisture.
- Unwind the Cable: To extend the cable, grasp the plug end and pull the cable away from the reel. The integrated cord guide will help prevent tangles. Unwind only the necessary length of cable for your task.
- Connect to Power Source: Plug the main power cord of the reel into a suitable grounded 120V wall outlet.
- Wall Mounting (Optional): If wall mounting is desired, use the provided wall mount bracket (if included) and appropriate fasteners to secure it to a sturdy surface. The reel can then be easily attached and detached from the bracket.
Operating Instructions
- Powering On: After plugging the reel into a wall outlet, press the red "ON-OFF" switch located on the face of the reel to the "ON" position. The power LED indicator will illuminate, confirming that power is live to the outlets.
- Connecting Appliances: Plug your electrical appliances or power tools into any of the four shuttered outlets on the reel. Ensure that the total current draw of all connected devices does not exceed 13 amps.
- Monitoring Overload: The safety overload circuit breaker will trip and cut power if the connected load exceeds 13 amps. If this occurs, disconnect some appliances, then press the red "SAFETY OVERLOAD" reset button to restore power.
- Powering Off: To turn off power to the outlets, press the red "ON-OFF" switch to the "OFF" position.
- Rewinding the Cable: When finished, disconnect all appliances. Use the winding handle on the side of the reel to neatly retract the cable. The integrated cord guide will assist in smooth, tangle-free winding.
