3. Setup
3.1 Loading Staples or Nails
Always ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply before loading fasteners.
- Press the magazine release latch located at the bottom rear of the tool.
- Pull out the magazine pusher rod until it locks in the open position.
- Insert a strip of staples or nails into the magazine channel. Ensure the fasteners are oriented correctly with the points facing forward.
- Push the magazine pusher rod back into the magazine until it clicks into place, securing the fasteners.

The magazine can hold up to 100 staples or 80 nails.
3.2 Power Connection
Connect the power cord to a suitable electrical outlet (230V, 50Hz). Ensure the power switch is in the "OFF" position before connecting.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Adjusting Impact Force / Speed
The FERM ETM1004 features a variable speed/impact force adjustment. Rotate the orange adjustment knob (Figure 3) at the rear of the tool to increase or decrease the impact force. Turn clockwise for higher impact (harder materials) and counter-clockwise for lower impact (softer materials).
4.2 Fastening Procedure
- Ensure the tool is loaded with the correct fasteners and connected to power.
- Set the power switch to the "ON" position.
- Place the nose piece firmly against the workpiece where the fastener is to be driven. The contact safety mechanism requires pressure to allow firing.
- Press the trigger to drive a staple or nail.
- Release the trigger after each fastener.

The tool can operate at a speed of up to 20 fasteners per minute, allowing for efficient work.
