Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, especially in saltwater, rinse the housing thoroughly with fresh water. Use the provided microfiber cleaning cloth to gently wipe the lens and housing body. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the surface.
- O-Ring Inspection: Regularly inspect the O-ring for any dirt, sand, hair, or damage. Even a small particle can compromise the waterproof seal. If necessary, gently clean the O-ring and its groove with a soft, damp cloth.
- Storage: Store the housing in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It is recommended to store the housing with the latch open to prevent compression of the O-ring over long periods, which can reduce its effectiveness.
- Lens Care: The front lens is made of toughened glass with a high light transmission rate (98%) for clear images. Handle with care to prevent scratches.
- Durability: The housing is constructed with PC material, stainless steel, and tempered glass for ultra-durability and rust resistance in marine environments.
Troubleshooting
- Water Leakage: If water leaks into the housing, immediately remove the camera. The most common cause is a compromised O-ring seal.
- Ensure the O-ring is clean and free of any debris (sand, hair, lint).
- Check the O-ring for any nicks, tears, or deformities. Replace if damaged.
- Verify the housing is closed correctly and the latch is fully secured.
- Buttons Not Responding: If the external buttons do not operate the camera's internal buttons:
- Ensure the camera is correctly seated within the housing.
- Check for any obstructions preventing the external buttons from making contact with the camera's buttons.
- Fogging Inside Housing: Fogging can occur due to temperature differences.
- Use anti-fog inserts (not included) inside the housing, especially in humid or cold conditions.
- Ensure the camera and housing are dry before sealing.
