Familiarize yourself with the ports and indicators on your router. The front panel typically features LED indicators for power, system status, Wi-Fi, WAN, and LAN connections. The rear panel includes the power input, WAN port for internet connection, and multiple LAN ports for wired devices.

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Hardware Connection:

  1. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DC IN port on the router and plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet. The Power LED indicator should light up.
  2. Internet Connection:
    • If you have a DSL/Cable Modem: Connect an Ethernet cable from your modem's LAN port to the WAN port (yellow) on the N302R Plus router.
    • If you have an Ethernet wall jack: Connect an Ethernet cable from the wall jack directly to the WAN port (yellow) on the N302R Plus router.
  3. Wired Device Connection (Optional): For wired devices like computers or gaming consoles, connect an Ethernet cable from the device's Ethernet port to any of the LAN ports (red) on the N302R Plus router.
  4. Wait for Initialization: Allow approximately 1-2 minutes for the router to boot up. The System LED should become stable, and the WAN LED should indicate an active internet connection.

3.2 Initial Configuration (Wireless):

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi: On your computer or mobile device, search for available Wi-Fi networks. The default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are usually printed on a label on the bottom of the router. Connect to this network.
  2. Access Web Management Interface: Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and type the default IP address of the router into the address bar. This is typically 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Refer to the label on your router for the exact address.
  3. Login: Enter the default username and password. Common defaults are admin/admin or admin/password. Consult the router's label or quick installation guide for specific credentials.
  4. Run Quick Setup Wizard: Upon successful login, you will likely be prompted to run a Quick Setup Wizard. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your internet connection type (DHCP, PPPoE, Static IP) and set up your desired Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
  5. Save Settings: After completing the wizard, save your settings. The router may restart. Reconnect to your newly configured Wi-Fi network.
