- Inspect the clock for any signs of damage.
- Ensure all components, including the instruction manual, are present.
2. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the clock.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert one 1.5V AA battery (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
3. Initial Signal Reception
- After battery insertion, the clock will automatically attempt to receive the DCF 77 radio signal.
- Place the clock near a window or in an open area to facilitate signal reception. Avoid placing it near electronic devices that may cause interference.
- The hands will typically move to the 12 o'clock position and then begin searching for the signal. This process can take several minutes to an hour.
- Once the signal is successfully received, the clock will automatically set itself to the correct time.
4. Manual Time Setting (If DCF Signal Cannot Be Received)
In areas with poor DCF 77 signal reception, the time can be set manually.
- Locate the manual setting wheel or button on the back of the clock.
- Rotate the wheel or press the button to advance the hands to the desired time.
- Note: Manual setting will not provide automatic daylight saving time adjustments.
Operating Instructions
Automatic Time Synchronization
- The TFA Dostmann radio-controlled clock automatically synchronizes with the DCF 77 signal, ensuring precise timekeeping.
- The clock will periodically attempt to receive the signal to maintain accuracy and adjust for daylight saving time changes.
Reading the Time

- The red second hand provides precise second-by-second time indication.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- To clean the clock, use a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the clock's finish or glass cover.
Battery Replacement
- When the clock hands stop moving or the time becomes inaccurate, it is likely time to replace the battery.
- Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section.
- Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
Troubleshooting
