5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Before First Use

Before initial use, ensure the solar light is fully charged. Place the light in direct sunlight for at least 8 hours with the switch turned ON. This allows the internal battery to reach full capacity.

5.2 Choosing a Mounting Location

Select a location that receives direct sunlight for the majority of the day to maximize charging efficiency. Avoid areas under eaves, trees, or other obstructions that may block sunlight. The motion sensor works best when mounted at a height of 6-8 feet (1.8-2.4 meters) from the ground.

5.3 Installation Steps

1. Turn on the Switch: Locate the ON/OFF button on the back of the light and press it to activate the unit. You should feel a click.
2. Mark and Drill: Hold the light against the desired mounting surface. Mark the positions for the screws. Drill two holes at the marked spots using an appropriate drill bit.
3. Insert Wall Plugs: If installing on masonry or drywall, insert the provided wall plugs into the drilled holes.
4. Mount the Device: Align the light with the holes and secure it firmly using the provided screws.
5. Automatic Operation: Once installed and charged, the light will automatically detect motion and illuminate at night.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

To activate the light, press the ON/OFF button located on the back of the unit. Press it again to turn the light off. Ensure the light is in the ON position for solar charging and automatic operation.

6.2 Motion Sensor Functionality

The URPOWER Solar Light operates in a single mode: motion-activated. During daylight hours, the light remains off and charges. At night, when motion is detected within its 16-26 foot range and 120-degree angle, the light will illuminate at full brightness for approximately 30 seconds. If motion continues, the light will remain on. After 30 seconds of no detected motion, the light will turn off.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning the Solar Panel: Regularly wipe the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel ensures efficient charging.
• Battery Care: The internal battery is designed for long-term use. Avoid prolonged storage in a completely discharged state. If storing for an extended period, ensure the light is fully charged before storage and recharge every few months.
• Environmental Factors: While IP65 waterproof, extreme weather conditions (heavy snow, prolonged freezing temperatures) may temporarily affect performance. Ensure the solar panel is clear of snow or ice for optimal charging.
