3. Setup Instructions
Your ZINUS Cloud Memory Foam Mattress is delivered compressed and rolled in a box for ease of transport. Follow these steps for proper setup:
- Prepare the Area: Bring the mattress box to the desired bedroom. Ensure you have a suitable foundation, such as a platform bed, foundation, bed frame, or SmartBase®.
- Unbox and Unroll: Carefully open the box and remove the rolled mattress. Place the rolled mattress onto your bed frame or foundation.
- Remove Plastic Wrapping: Carefully cut and remove the outer plastic wrapping. Be cautious not to cut into the mattress itself. The mattress will begin to decompress immediately.
- Allow for Full Expansion: Unroll the mattress completely. It is recommended to allow 24 to 72 hours for the mattress to fully expand to its original shape and size. Walking or crawling on the mattress can help facilitate the decompression process.
- Ventilation: An initial, mild odor may be present upon unboxing. This is normal for new foam products and will dissipate within a few hours to a few days in a well-ventilated room.

4. Operating Instructions
The ZINUS Cloud Memory Foam Mattress is designed for optimal comfort and support. Its plush feel and pressure-relieving properties make it particularly suitable for side sleepers and individuals of petite to average weight. The mattress is engineered to minimize motion transfer, allowing for undisturbed sleep even with a partner. It maintains its shape over time, resisting sagging and providing consistent support.
5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and cleanliness of your ZINUS Cloud Memory Foam Mattress, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Spot Clean Only: For spills or stains, clean the affected area using a mild detergent and a damp cloth. Do not saturate the mattress with water. Allow the area to air dry completely before covering.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh cleaning agents, bleach, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the foam and fabric.
- Use a Mattress Protector: To protect against spills, stains, and allergens, it is highly recommended to use a waterproof mattress protector.
- Rotate Regularly: While not strictly necessary for memory foam, rotating the mattress every 3-6 months can help promote even wear and extend its lifespan.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your ZINUS Cloud Memory Foam Mattress, consider the following common solutions:
- New Mattress Odor: A faint, new foam smell (often called 'off-gassing') is normal and harmless. Ensure the room is well-ventilated, and the odor should dissipate within a few days.
- Incomplete Expansion: If the mattress has not fully expanded after 72 hours, ensure it is laid flat on a solid surface and that the room temperature is not excessively cold, as lower temperatures can slow down expansion. Continue to allow time for full decompression.
- Discomfort: Allow your body time to adjust to the new mattress, typically a few weeks. If discomfort persists, ensure your bed foundation is appropriate and in good condition.
- Sagging: This mattress is designed for durability and resistance to sagging. Ensure the mattress is placed on a supportive, flat foundation. If sagging occurs within the warranty period, refer to the warranty information.
