Setup

1. Connecting to a Speaker Cabinet

The 6505 MH features an impedance switch on the rear panel, allowing selection between 8 or 16 ohm cabinets. Ensure the switch matches the impedance of your speaker cabinet. Always connect a speaker cabinet to the "SPEAKER" output before powering on the amplifier. Operating the amplifier without a proper speaker load can cause damage.

Maintenance

Tube Replacement

The Peavey 6505 MH uses 2x EL84 power tubes and 3x 12AX7/ECC83 preamp tubes. The T.S.I. circuit provides an indication of power tube health. If a T.S.I. LED turns red, it indicates a potential issue with the corresponding power tube. Tube replacement should be performed by qualified service personnel to ensure proper biasing and safe operation. Always use high-quality replacement tubes.

Cleaning

Clean the exterior of the amplifier with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the amplifier is unplugged before cleaning.

Ventilation

Ensure the amplifier's ventilation grilles are clear of obstructions to allow for proper airflow. Overheating can reduce the lifespan of components, especially tubes.

Troubleshooting

For issues not resolved by these steps, contact Peavey customer support or a qualified service technician.
