3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Proper Cuff Placement
For accurate readings, ensure the cuff is placed correctly on your upper arm. The wide-range cuff fits adult arms from 8.7 in – 16.5 in (22 cm – 42 cm).
- Position the arm cuff as shown in the diagram, ensuring the artery mark aligns with your brachial artery.
- Tighten the cuff, leaving a 2-finger space between the cuff and your arm.
- The cuff should be placed approximately 1/2 inch above the elbow.

3.2 Taking a Measurement
Follow these steps for an accurate blood pressure measurement:
- Sit quietly for 5 minutes prior to measurement.
- Use the same arm for consistent readings (preferably the left arm).
- Measure around the same time each day.
- Empty your bladder before measurement.
- Sit with both feet flat on the floor.
- Relax and press the START button.
Avoid eating, using tobacco, or exercising beforehand. Do not talk or make unnecessary movements during measurement. Ensure clothing does not interfere with the cuff.
3.3 Understanding Display Indicators
The monitor's LCD displays your readings clearly:
- SYS (Systolic Blood Pressure): The top number, indicating the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats.
- DIA (Diastolic Blood Pressure): The bottom number, indicating the pressure in your arteries between beats.
- PUL (Pulse): Your heart rate per minute.
- Hypertension Risk Indicator: A color-coded scale on the left side of the display helps categorize your blood pressure level.
- Irregular Heartbeat Detector: An icon will appear if an irregular heartbeat is detected during measurement.

3.4 Microlife Averaging Mode (MAM)
The MAM technology automatically takes 3 measurements in succession and averages them for a more reliable result. This mode is recommended by the American Heart Association (AHA).
3.5 User Profiles and Memory Storage
The monitor stores 99 results per user, for a total of 198 results. You can switch between two user profiles (User 1 and User 2) to keep individual records separate. Results are stored automatically with date and time.
3.6 Microlife Blood Pressure Analyzer Software
Connect your monitor to a computer via USB to transfer your results. The Microlife Blood Pressure Analyzer Software (Windows & Mac compatible) allows you to view graphs, track trends, and share results with your doctor. Mac users can search “Microlife” in the App store.

4. Care and Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Wipe the monitor and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Do not immerse the monitor or cuff in water.
4.2 Storage
Store the device in its provided storage case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Keep it out of reach of children.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your monitor, please refer to the full user manual (PDF) for detailed troubleshooting steps. Common issues may include:
- Error Messages: Specific error codes displayed on the screen indicate different problems (e.g., cuff not properly applied, movement during measurement). Consult the manual for code definitions.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure proper cuff placement, correct body posture, and adherence to pre-measurement guidelines.
- No Power: Check battery installation or try replacing batteries. If using AC adapter, ensure it is properly connected and the power outlet is functional.
