Setup
1. Initial Charging
Your Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Before initial use, or if the watch has stopped, ensure it is fully charged. Place the watch in direct sunlight or under a bright artificial light source. The charging time varies depending on the light intensity:
- Direct Sunlight (outdoors): Approximately 5-6 hours for a full charge.
- Cloudy Day (outdoors): Approximately 15-20 hours for a full charge.
- Fluorescent Lamp (30W, 20cm distance): Approximately 40-50 hours for a full charge.
Note: Avoid placing the watch too close to incandescent lamps or halogen lamps, as this can cause excessive heat and damage the watch.
2. Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
- Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. When setting the minute hand, advance it a few minutes past the desired time, then turn it back to the exact time.
- Push the crown back into the normal position. The second hand will resume movement.
3. Setting the Date
- Pull the crown out to the first click position.
- Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to set the date.
- Push the crown back into the normal position.
Important: Do not set the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, as this may cause the date change mechanism to malfunction. If you need to set the date during this period, first change the time to outside this window, set the date, then reset the time.
Operating Your Watch
Daily Use and Charging
For continuous operation, expose your watch to light regularly. Even short periods of exposure to light will help maintain its charge. When not wearing the watch, store it in a location where it can receive light, such as near a window, rather than in a dark drawer.
The watch features a low charge warning function: if the watch's power reserve becomes very low, the second hand will move in two-second intervals instead of one-second intervals. This indicates that the watch needs immediate exposure to light for charging.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dust and fingerprints. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
- Water Resistance: This watch is splash resistant. Avoid direct contact with water, such as swimming or showering, as this can damage the watch.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (below 14°F / -10°C or above 140°F / 60°C) or sudden temperature changes.
- Chemicals: Keep the watch away from solvents, detergents, perfumes, and cosmetics, as these can damage the case, bracelet, or gaskets.
- Storage: When storing the watch for extended periods, ensure it is exposed to light periodically to prevent it from fully discharging.
