Your ZINUS Gerard bed frame is designed for easy assembly. All necessary parts, tools, and instructions are conveniently located within the zippered compartment of the headboard. We recommend two people for assembly, which typically takes less than an hour.

Assembly Steps:
- Unpack Components: Carefully open the packaging. All components, including the legs, hardware, and tools (Allen wrench), are stored in the zippered compartment located on the back of the headboard.
- Attach Legs: Begin by attaching the legs to both the headboard and footboard. Ensure they are securely fastened but do not overtighten initially.
- Assemble Metal Cross Beams: Connect the metal cross beams. Verify that they rest flat on the floor without requiring downward pressure.
- Connect Side Rails: Loosen the pre-installed bolts on the headboard and footboard. Slide the side rails into place. Do not fully tighten the bolts at this stage.
- Position and Tighten: Ensure the headboard and footboard legs are free-floating on the floor, meaning they do not bear significant weight or require force to stay stable. With slight pressure applied to the top of the frame, tighten all bolts securely. This ensures the metal frame bears the primary load, not the upholstered components.
- Install Wood Slats: Place the wood slats across the frame. The slats are typically connected and may feature Velcro strips to secure them to the frame, preventing movement and squeaking.

Maintenance
Cleaning Instructions:
- Upholstery: Wipe the faux leather upholstery with a dry cloth to remove dust and light debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the material.
- Frame: The steel framework can also be wiped clean with a dry cloth.
General Care:
