Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Locate the power button or switch on the mPack. Press or toggle it to turn the headlight on. Repeat the action to turn it off.

2. Brightness Adjustment

The mPack features a stepless light intensity control. Rotate the knob on the mPack to increase or decrease the brightness of the LED headlight. Adjust to an optimal brightness setting to prevent reflections and ensure clear visibility.

3. Spot Size Adjustment

The ML4 LED Headlight allows for adjustment of the light spot size. Locate the adjustment mechanism on the headlight unit and manipulate it to achieve the desired spot diameter (e.g., 30 mm to 80 mm at 420 mm working distance). A smaller diameter is often ideal for ENT and Dental applications.

4. Viewing Angle Adjustment

The angle of declination is stepless and individually adjustable. Use the articulation points on the headlight unit to position the light beam precisely for your examination needs.

5. Optional Yellow Filter

If your system includes an optional yellow filter, attach it to the headlight unit as instructed. This filter reduces blue light, which can be beneficial in certain applications, such as avoiding premature hardening of composites in dentistry.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Headband: The headband can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Ensure it is completely dry before storage.
  • Headlight Unit: Gently wipe the exterior of the headlight unit with a soft, lint-free cloth. For optical surfaces, use a lens cleaning solution and a specialized optical cleaning cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • mPack: Wipe the mPack with a damp cloth. Do not immerse in liquids.

2. Storage

When not in use, store the Heine ML4 LED Headlight System in its protective case or a clean, dry environment. Avoid extreme temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight. Ensure the mPack is partially charged (not fully depleted or fully charged for long-term storage) to prolong battery life.

3. Battery Care

The mPack Portable Power Pack uses a rechargeable battery. To maximize battery life:

  • Avoid completely discharging the battery regularly.
  • Charge the battery fully before first use.
  • If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to approximately 50% every few months.
