1. Setup and Unboxing
Your ZINUS Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress is expertly compressed and rolled for convenient shipping. Follow these steps for proper setup:
- Placement: Carefully remove the mattress from its shipping box. Place the rolled mattress on a clean, flat surface, such as your bed frame or foundation, before removing the outer plastic wrapping.
- Unroll: Cut and remove the outer plastic layer. The mattress will begin to unroll.
- Expand: Carefully cut and remove the inner vacuum-sealed plastic. The mattress will immediately begin to expand.
- Full Expansion: Allow 24 to 72 hours for the mattress to fully regain its original shape and firmness. Memory foam expands faster in warmer environments. Colder temperatures may extend the expansion time.

3. Care and Maintenance
- Mattress Cover: The mattress cover is designed for protection. Refer to the law tag on the mattress for specific care instructions. Do not remove the mattress cover unless explicitly instructed by the manufacturer, as this may expose the internal fire barrier and potentially glass fibers.
- Protection: To prolong the life and cleanliness of your mattress, it is recommended to use a mattress protector.
- Cleaning Spills: For minor spills, gently blot the affected area with a clean, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid saturating the mattress. Allow to air dry completely.
- Rotation: Periodically rotate your mattress (head to foot) every 3-6 months to promote even wear and extend its lifespan.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the mattress to prevent moisture buildup.
4. Troubleshooting
- Initial Odor: A new mattress may have a slight, harmless odor upon unboxing, often referred to as "off-gassing." This is normal and will dissipate.
- Ensure the room is well-ventilated by opening windows.
- Allow the mattress to air out for several days before using it.
- The ActivCharcoal infusion helps to minimize and absorb odors over time.
- Incomplete Expansion: If the mattress does not appear to have fully expanded after 72 hours:
- Verify the room temperature is not excessively cold, as this can slow expansion.
- Ensure the mattress is lying flat on a solid surface.
- Contact customer support if expansion issues persist beyond the recommended timeframe.
