1. Product Overview

3. Setup and Installation

3.1. Physical Installation

1. Prepare Mounting Surface: Choose a flat, stable surface for mounting. Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark drilling points if required.
2. Attach Mounting Bracket: Securely attach the mounting bracket to the wall or ceiling using appropriate screws (not included).
3. Connect Cables:
   • Ethernet: Connect an Ethernet cable from your network switch (preferably PoE-enabled) to the Ethernet port on the access point.
   • Power (if not using PoE): If not using Power over Ethernet (PoE), connect a compatible power adapter (sold separately) to the DC power input port.
4. Mount the Access Point: Align the access point with the attached mounting bracket and slide it into place until it clicks securely.

3.2. Initial Configuration

Upon initial power-up, the Aruba Instant IAP-215-US will attempt to obtain an IP address via DHCP. If a DHCP server is not available, it will default to a static IP address (refer to the Quick Start Guide for default IP). You can access the web-based management interface via a web browser.

1. Connect to the AP: Connect your computer to the same network segment as the access point.
2. Access Web Interface: Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the access point.
3. Login: Enter the default username and password (refer to the Quick Start Guide for default credentials).

5. Virtual Controller Setup: If deploying multiple Instant APs, one AP will automatically assume the role of Virtual Controller. Subsequent APs will join the cluster automatically.
