Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
The Element XP powers on automatically when connected to the power supply. To power off, disconnect the power supply.
Preset Selection
The Element XP features 200 presets (100 factory, 100 user). Use the footswitches to navigate through presets. The display will show the current preset number.
Effect Editing
The pedal uses a simple pedalboard-style layout for editing. Use the dedicated knobs and buttons to adjust parameters for different effects, amplifiers, and cabinets. Refer to the on-screen display for current settings.
Expression Pedal
The built-in expression pedal can be assigned to control various effects, such as Wah or Volume. Its function can be configured within the pedal's editing interface.
Chromatic Tuner
Activate the built-in chromatic tuner to tune your guitar. The display will guide you through the tuning process, indicating pitch accuracy.
Drum Machine
The Element XP includes 45 drum patterns. Engage the drum machine function and select a pattern to play along with for rhythm practice.
Amp/Mixer Mode
This mode optimizes the output for either a guitar amplifier or a direct connection to a mixer/recording device. When connecting directly to a mixer, ensure this mode is active to engage internal speaker cabinet simulations.
Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the Element XP in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Disconnect the power supply.
Troubleshooting
No Power
- Ensure the power supply is securely connected to both the pedal and a working AC outlet.
- Verify that the power adapter is the correct voltage and amperage (9VDC, 300mA) as specified for the Element XP.
No Sound Output
- Check all instrument cables for secure connections between your guitar, the Element XP, and your amplifier/mixer.
- Ensure the volume levels on your guitar, the Element XP, and your amplifier/mixer are turned up.
- If using headphones, ensure they are properly plugged in and functioning.
- Verify that the correct output mode (Amp/Mixer) is selected based on your connection.
Distorted or Unwanted Sound
- Check input and output gain levels on the Element XP and your amplifier/mixer to prevent clipping.
- Review the current preset's effect settings; some effects are designed to produce distortion.
- Ensure all cables are in good condition and not damaged.
