Operating Instructions

Song Sequencer

The WK-6600 features a 16-track song sequencer plus one system track. This allows for recording up to 5 songs or approximately 30,000 notes. Use the dedicated sequencer controls to record, play back, and edit your musical compositions.

Rhythm Function

Explore the 210 built-in rhythms to accompany your playing. You can customize these rhythms by toggling individual instrumental portions and adjusting various parameters to create unique backing tracks.

Tone Editor

Personalize your sound using the Tone Editor. Adjust parameters such as attack time, release time, cut-off frequency, vibrato, reverb, chorus, and DSP effects to fine-tune the 700 available tones according to your musical preferences.

Tones and Polyphony

The keyboard offers a selection of 700 tones to enhance your musical creativity. With 48 notes of polyphony, the instrument can produce multiple simultaneous notes without dropping sounds, ensuring rich and complex harmonies.

Built-in Effects

Integrate various effects into your performance. The WK-6600 includes 10 reverb types, 5 chorus types, and 100 DSP (Digital Signal Processor) types. You have the option to create and store up to 100 unique effect styles.

Computer and iPad Connectivity

Connect the keyboard to Mac or Windows computers via USB without the need for additional driver downloads. It can also function as a controller for Apple iPad devices by utilizing Apple’s Camera Connection Kit (sold separately).

Maintenance

Cleaning

Regularly wipe the keyboard and control panel with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish.

Dust Cover Usage

When not in use, place the provided dust cover over the keyboard to protect it from dust and debris. This helps maintain the instrument's condition and extends its lifespan.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Casio WK-6600, refer to the following common solutions:

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the keyboard and a working electrical outlet. Check if the power button is fully pressed.
  • No Sound: Verify that the master volume is turned up. If using headphones, ensure they are properly plugged in and the headphone volume is adjusted. Check if any local volume settings for tones or rhythms are muted.
  • Incorrect Sound: If the sound is distorted or unexpected, try resetting the tone or effect settings to their default values.
  • Connectivity Issues: For USB connections, ensure the USB cable is properly connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Restarting both devices can sometimes resolve connection problems.
