The Citizen Eco-Drive technology harnesses the power of light from any natural or artificial source and converts it into energy, eliminating the need for battery replacement. This watch features a durable Super Titanium case and band, a black dial, and is designed for everyday wear.
2. Setup and Initial Charging
Your Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Upon receiving your watch, it may not be running or may be running with an insufficient charge.
2.1 Initial Charging
To ensure proper operation, expose the watch dial to direct sunlight or bright artificial light for several hours. The watch will begin to operate once it receives sufficient light. For a full charge, expose the watch to direct sunlight for approximately 11 hours or to fluorescent light (30W, 20 inches away) for about 50 hours.
- Avoid placing the watch too close to a light source, as this may cause the watch to overheat and malfunction.
- Do not charge the watch in high-temperature environments (e.g., on a car dashboard).
2.2 Setting the Time and Date
- Pull the crown out to the first click for date adjustment, or to the second click for time adjustment.
- Turn the crown to set the desired time or date.
- Push the crown back into the normal position.

3. Operating Your Eco-Drive Watch
The Eco-Drive system ensures continuous operation by converting light into electrical energy. This energy is stored in a power cell, allowing the watch to function even in the dark for extended periods once fully charged.
3.1 Power Reserve
On a single full charge, your Citizen Eco-Drive watch can run for over six months, even if stored in complete darkness.
3.2 Understanding Eco-Drive Technology

4. Maintenance and Care
4.1 Cleaning Your Watch
To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and band regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For titanium bands, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using chemical cleaners or abrasive materials.
4.2 Water Resistance
This watch has a water resistance depth of 50 meters. This rating means it is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming, but not for diving or snorkeling. Ensure the crown is pushed in completely before any contact with water.
4.3 Storage
When not wearing your watch, store it in a location where it can receive light periodically to maintain its charge. If storing for an extended period, ensure it is fully charged to prevent the power cell from depleting.

5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Watch Not Running or Stopping Frequently
This is typically an indication of insufficient charge. Expose the watch to bright light for an extended period (refer to Section 2.1).
5.2 Time or Date Incorrect
Adjust the time and date manually using the crown (refer to Section 2.2). Ensure the watch has sufficient charge before setting.
5.3 Condensation Inside the Crystal
If condensation appears inside the watch crystal and does not dissipate quickly, it may indicate a seal issue. Contact Citizen customer support or an authorized service center immediately.
