Setting Dual Voltage for Travel:
This dryer is designed for dual voltage. For 125V operation (North America), the switch should be set to 125V. For 250V operation (many international locations), the switch should be set to 250V. Use a coin or screwdriver to rotate the voltage selector switch located on the handle to the correct voltage for your region. Always ensure the voltage setting matches the local power supply before plugging in the appliance.
4. Operating Instructions
Powering On and Adjusting Settings:
Plug the hair dryer into an appropriate electrical outlet. The dryer features a slide switch on the handle for controlling heat and speed settings:
- OFF: Turns the dryer off.
- LOW: Provides lower heat and speed for gentle drying or styling.
- HIGH: Provides higher heat and speed for fast drying.
Select the desired setting based on your hair type and styling preference. For faster drying, use the HIGH setting. For more controlled styling or delicate hair, use the LOW setting.
Using the Cool Shot Function:
After styling with heat, press and hold the Cool Shot button (typically marked with a snowflake icon) to deliver a burst of cool air. This helps to set your style and add shine. Release the button to return to the selected heat setting.
Styling Tips:
- For smooth, sleek looks, attach the concentrator nozzle and direct the airflow down the hair shaft while brushing.

5. Maintenance
Cleaning the Air Intake Filter:
For optimal performance, regularly clean the air intake filter located at the rear of the dryer. Ensure the dryer is unplugged and cool before cleaning. Gently remove any accumulated lint, dust, or hair using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner attachment. This prevents overheating and extends the life of the appliance.
Storage:
When not in use, ensure the dryer is cool and unplugged. Fold the handle for compact storage. Do not wrap the power cord around the dryer, as this can damage the cord. Store the appliance in a safe, dry location, out of reach of children.
6. Troubleshooting
- Dryer not turning on:
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Ensure the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Verify the voltage selector switch is set correctly for your region (125V or 250V).
- Dryer stops during use or overheats:
- The dryer may have an automatic shut-off feature to prevent overheating. Unplug the dryer and allow it to cool down for several minutes.
- Check the air intake filter at the rear of the dryer for blockages (lint, hair). Clean the filter as described in the Maintenance section.
- Ensure air vents are not blocked during use.
- If using on 250V, ensure you are using the LOW setting as the HIGH setting can cause overheating on higher voltages (as noted in customer reviews).
- Hair not drying effectively:
- Ensure the dryer is on the appropriate heat/speed setting for your hair type.
- Clean the air intake filter to ensure maximum airflow.
If problems persist after following these steps, discontinue use and contact Conair customer service or an authorized service center.
