1. Product Overview

The OREI HDS-104 is a high-performance 1x4 HDMI splitter designed to distribute a single HDMI input signal to four identical HDMI output signals simultaneously. This device is ideal for applications requiring the display of one source on multiple screens, such as home entertainment systems, retail displays, or conference rooms.

3. Device Layout

Familiarize yourself with the ports and indicators on the OREI HDS-104 HDMI Splitter:

Front Panel:

• POWER LED: Illuminates when the device is powered on.
• IN LED: Illuminates when an HDMI input signal is detected.
• OUT 1-4 LEDs: Illuminates when an HDMI output signal is active on the corresponding port.

Rear Panel:

• DC 5V: Power input port for the included 5V DC adapter.
• HDMI IN: Connect your HDMI source device (e.g., Blu-ray player, game console, PC).
• HDMI OUT 1-4: Connect your HDMI display devices (e.g., TV, monitor, projector).
• SERVICE: Reserved for firmware updates.
• EDID Switch (STD/TV): Allows for EDID management.

4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your OREI HDS-104 HDMI Splitter:

1. Ensure all devices (source, displays, and splitter) are powered off before making connections.
2. Connect your HDMI source device (e.g., cable box, DVD player, gaming console) to the HDMI IN port on the splitter using a high-quality HDMI cable.
3. Connect your HDMI display devices (e.g., TVs, monitors, projectors) to the HDMI OUT 1 through HDMI OUT 4 ports on the splitter using high-quality HDMI cables.
4. Connect the included 5V DC power adapter to the DC 5V port on the splitter, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
5. Power on the splitter. The POWER LED should illuminate.
6. Power on your HDMI source device and all connected display devices.
7. Verify that the IN LED and the corresponding OUT LEDs illuminate, indicating active signals.

The splitter will automatically detect the input signal and distribute it to all connected displays. The EDID switch can be adjusted if you encounter display compatibility issues.

5. Operating the Device

The OREI HDS-104 is designed for simple plug-and-play operation. Once connected and powered on, it will automatically duplicate the HDMI input signal to all four outputs.

EDID Management:

The EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) switch on the rear panel helps manage display compatibility. EDID contains information about a display's capabilities (e.g., supported resolutions, audio formats). The splitter uses this information to ensure the source sends a compatible signal.

• STD (Standard): In this mode, the splitter uses its internal, pre-defined EDID settings. This is often a good default for general compatibility.
• TV: In this mode, the splitter reads the EDID from the display connected to HDMI OUT 1. This is useful if you have a specific display with unique requirements or if you encounter compatibility issues with the STD mode. Ensure the primary display (connected to OUT 1) is powered on when setting this mode.

Supported Resolutions and Audio:

The splitter supports a wide range of video resolutions and audio formats:

• Video: Up to 4K@60Hz, 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576p, 576i, 480p, 480i. Supports 3D.
• Audio: LPCM, Dolby-AC3, DTS7.1, DSD, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD master audio.

Important Considerations:

• This splitter is designed for mirroring (duplicating) the same image across all four displays. It does not extend the desktop across multiple monitors.
• This device does not extract audio from the HDMI signal. Audio is passed through to the connected displays.
