3.4. Initial Cleaning

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Preparing for Slicing

  1. Ensure the slicer is clean and properly assembled.
  2. Verify the knife ring guard and knife cover are securely in place.
  3. Adjust the slice thickness knob to the desired setting (0 to 9/16 inches).

4.2. Loading Product

Place the food product onto the extended chute. Use the end weight to secure the product against the product tray and the blade. The pyramid-shaped teeth on the end weight and gripping teeth on its underside help stabilize the product.

4.3. Slicing Procedure

  1. Press the green START button to activate the slicer. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Using the handle, smoothly push the product chute back and forth, guiding the food product across the rotating blade.
  3. Apply gentle, consistent pressure with the end weight to ensure even slices.
  4. Collect sliced product from the receiving tray.
  5. When finished, press the red STOP button to turn off the slicer.

CAUTION: Never attempt to slice product without the end weight properly securing it. Do not reach into the blade area while the slicer is operating.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

WARNING: Always unplug the slicer from the power outlet before cleaning or performing any maintenance.

5.1. Daily Cleaning

Regular cleaning is crucial for hygiene and optimal performance. The slicer is designed for hand wash only.

  1. Disconnect power.
  2. Remove the slice deflector and knife cover. The knife cover has a knob for easier installation and removal.
  3. Carefully wipe down the blade using a damp cloth and mild, food-safe detergent. Use cut-resistant gloves.
  4. Clean the product chute, end weight, and all other food contact surfaces.
  5. Rinse with clean water and sanitize as per local health regulations.
  6. Dry all components thoroughly before reassembly.

5.2. Knife Sharpening

The G12 features a top-mounted sharpener. Sharpen the blade regularly to maintain optimal cutting performance.

  1. Ensure the slicer is unplugged.
  2. Follow the specific instructions provided with the sharpener for correct usage. Improper sharpening can damage the blade.
  3. After sharpening, clean the blade to remove any metal particles.

5.3. Motor Overload Protection
